Km5 Ibiza Kisses Summer Goodbye

“The time to be happy is now. The place to be happy is here.” Those were the words with which iconic island destination Km5 Ibiza welcomed its global fanbase back into its magical ambiance at the beginning of the 2018 season. And, as we look back over a summer of delicious dinners, fantastic entertainment, stylish soirees and the finest Balearic beats, we can safely say that once again, the inimitable venue has delivered and exceeded its promise.

Last night, the trendy garden restaurant, cocktail bar and boutique club welcomed its jetset following for one last night of decadence. Whether you wanted to enjoy the full-blown lavish dinner experience or simply toast the occasion with an expertly crafted mixology creation in the atmospheric setting of the garden, a night filled with surprises and a sprinkling of signature Km5 magic awaited.

As ever, the Km5 posse was dressed to the nines; leaders, not followers of fashion, showcasing their designer finery in the glamorous setting of the nocturnal oasis. Bringing the shutters down on its 24th year on the White Isle, a line-up featuring the finest island and international turntable talent had been curated to deliver the soundtrack for the final fiesta, starring Nick Warren, Iban Mendoza, Jean Cedric, Sergi Ribas and Aracil. No strangers to the Km5 booth, the sound architects took us on a musical journey that began with slinky, sexy house beats and gathered pace as the party moved from the garden into the historic walls of the humble finca that houses the legendary Ibiza brand.

While diners were feasting on fresh sushi, premium grilled meats and local treasures of the sea, those mingling in the neon-lit garden were entertained by charming stilt walkers and fierce dancers, who mesmerised us with their tantalising moves. Before too long, our own toes were tapping away with the beat before marching us right into the growing crowd gathered on the inside dancefloor. Many a night of legendary hedonism has taken place here, seeing A-List stars rub shoulders with the movers and shakers of Ibiza. As another heady summer comes to a close for the Km5 crew, we look forward to ‘the big 25’ next year with much anticipation!
