Privilege Ibiza – known as Ku Club in the island’s early clubbing days – is a historic melting pot of hedonism, expression and fun. After idealising its party concept at the San Rafael superclub for a decade now, SuperMartXé continues to stir those clubbing practises with just as much colour, excess and, of course, fun. For this middle-of-the-season extravaganza, Italian house hero and legendary producer Benny Benassi fronted a Ciber Geisha takeover, featuring The Cube Guys, Juanjo Martin, Javi Reina and a live Nalaya performance. Here’s what went down with SuperMartXé at Privilege Ibiza.

Privilege is an immense club. Its vast building provides all the space you need to transform it into whichever vision you desire. SuperMartXé’s vision is always breathtaking. After moving into a Ciber Geisha concept after a wonderfully risqué Peep Show party earlier this season, this international clubbing brand knows production inside out. Whether it’s the Japanese temple inspired stage, the Tokyo neon lights or its jaw-droppingly talented dancers, SuperMartXé always pulls it out the bag when it comes to catching attention. It’s a good thing its music is just as captivating, otherwise we’d be left with a packed-out room of wide-eyed party revellers; well, it is Ibiza, after all.

Juanjo Martin is a proper Ibiza DJ. His house heavy productions and wicked dancefloor-filling selections have become a staple expectation at SuperMartXé this season – and tonight was no exception. Opting for a drum-heavy mix of tribal beats with an expertly sprinkled dose of real funkiness, Juanjo Martin was giving it some. As Privilege’s main dancefloor began to fill fast, this Ibiza-based selector was gradually edging the tempo towards an exciting climax, just before Benny Benassi was about to begin.

The Satisfaction star has been exhibiting his unapparelled DJ style at some of the world’s biggest events for decades. His productions are award-winning and Privilege was ready to see Benassi throw down a set worthy of headliner status. Keeping the energy lively, the Italian selector was charismatic as ever and his track choices matched his animated style from behind-the-decks. It showed true ability to relay Pink Floyd sampled lyrics with ‘hey teachers, leave those kids alone’, over ARTBAT’s brilliant Atlas electro-techno banger. This was an entertaining peak-time performance that was synonymous with SuperMartXé’s spectacular Ciber Geisha show. Head down to Privilege each Friday until October 4th to see for yourself.
