Dixon Takes Us Into Transmoderna At Pacha Ibiza

After seasons of speculations, teases and hope; Dixon finally has his own Ibiza residency. With Pacha landing the German techno and house don, Dixon’s first Transmoderna summer on the island is in full swing – and he’s invited some very special and unique artists to help turn Transmoderna into one of the island’s most revered residencies. Essential Ibiza joined the Friday night Pacha revellers, who witnessed KiNK live and, of course, the main man Dixon.

Pacha felt transformed with a dark yet welcoming atmosphere. With piercing lights and pristine production, Dixon and his Transmoderna team have nailed their concept. A true Berlin sound has reached the island, but first it was the turn of Bulgaria’s finest musical export: KiNK. Known for his technical brilliance and off-the-cuff masterpiece performances, the live performer brought more gadgets than the inspector himself. Armed with his Roland Drum Machine, Numark Orbit and more, KiNK was giving us his best showing and was the perfect pacemaker before Dixon arrived under the cherries.

Having played at some of the island’s biggest nights, the Innervisions label-leader has finally given us what we’ve all been waiting for. Dixon is by far one of the most talented and respected DJs in his genre – and to have his own night at one of Ibiza’s most iconic club is much deserved. It was time to buckle-in for over two hours of Dixon brilliance. The Berlin-DJ wasn’t holding back with his Shazam-unfriendly selections – as usual – and had us soaking-up a wave of unreleased Innervisions goodness and Dixon exclusives. This was a showcase in how to soundtrack your own night. Soulwax’s remix of Marie Davidson’s Work It can give a flavour of what this experienced selector had in stall for us. The night moved into the morning with a dynamic funkiness and cutting-edge techno brilliance. As the evening hit its peak, Dixon threw down Tunnelvision’s disco-infused Rain Dance stomper. This was Dixon at his usual best – and it was no shock to see the Pacha dancefloor still bursting at the seams until sunrise.

Transmoderna continues each Friday until October 4th. With huge names in the scene like DJ Koze, Henrik Schwarz and Mano Le Tough still to perform under the Pacha cherries, this weekend starter on Ibiza is still heating up. Dixon and Transmoderna is a residency worth its salt – make sure you taste it for yourself during your White Isle stay. Dixon never disappoints.
