In what has been a summer of many firsts in the clubbing sphere of Ibiza, the night to have generated the most discussion is unquestionably Cocoon’s move to the glamorous halls of the newly refurbished Pacha. When two iconic institutions of such magnitude come together, the result by design is going to hang favourably on the side of heroic and, unsurprisingly, wherever Cocoon goes, its loyal following has proven to shadow. After almost two decades in the game, the book is set to close on what has been an exciting new chapter for the brand. The finale on Wednesday, 3rd October, will see Papa Sven and team assemble for one final tasty techno celebration.

And, what a corker of a celebration it is set to be! Needing no introductions, Seth Troxler will grace the illustrious booth alongside Sven Väth in Room 1; while Room 2 will have its own unique blend of talent dishing out the melodic soup. Berlin-based Brouqade Records head honcho Dana Ruh will play alongside the vinyl-only, German-born, André Galluzzi who’s held a residency at Berghain. Making it a trio, minimal maestro and Madrid native Cesar Vinzent is set to wrap things up rather neatly.

Throughout the summer the roster of acts to appear at the twin cherries on a Wednesday has been nothing short of exemplary. From Peggy Gou to Nastia and Ricardo Villalobos to Nina Kraviz, the talent coming through has had the whole island spoilt; Kraviz’s appearance, for example, has been another historical first for Pacha. Not forgetting the unrivalled and unbeatable atmosphere that a Cocoon party generates, there is nothing like the inclusive feel and a crowd ardently listening to every last beat. One thing’s for sure, Sven Väth’s concluding performance promises an eruption with his phenomenal sound, as ever delivered in a cool, calm and collected manner; watching on with a coy smile. Techno heads, it’s time to gather. The countdown has begun – we will see you on the dancefloor!
