Following some pretty stormy weather in the week, Sunday was another day of torrential downpour in Ibiza. Not knowing if this would stop the island’s partygoers in their tracks, it was hard to tell by the empty looking streets as we pulled into Marina Botafoch. Yet stepping into HEART Ibiza for the weekly ethereal sounds of SAGA, we couldn’t be more assured that come rain or shine, the party will most definitely go on! Quite literally packed to the rafters, a monumental turnout had appeared for the heavy-duty trio of Robag Wruhme, Satori and the leaders of the night themselves, Bedouin.

Arguably one of the most popular nights at the venue, the winning formula of ground-breaking acts, mesmerising live visuals and a sound system to shake you to your core has seen a strong following form – the island’s gliteratti, locals and discerning music lovers from all over the world. The indoors already feeling like a fairytale, with German producer Robag Wruhme’s shapeshifting and pumping sounds creating a magical vibe and a crowd dressed in their flowing robes and illustrious garments set the scene perfectly.

As we wormed our way through the foyer brimming with people free-flowing and letting loose to the high energy melodic tunes, the legendary Satori was up about to take over from the raring maestro.
Having throughout the summer won much of the discerning HEART Ibiza crowd over with his enlighteningly eclectic world-music style, his set led us straight into an electrifying sound garden. The energy palpitating from the dancefloor was as ever incredibly rampant as Satori trumpeted everyone into a dance free-for-all.

It was the ultimate ‘dance like nobody’s watching’ scene as people got up on the stairs and balconies to throw their fists in the air; encouraging us to throw our hands that bit higher too. Throughout the performance, the tall enveloping walls played canvas to a live-stream of a body-painting act while hypnotic visuals spluttered around, interrupted in intervals by incredible performances by costumed actors.

Of course, the iconic duo Bedouin quite literally tore the dancefloor up the largest. With their tracks that blended flutes, driving basslines and trill electronica, their famous imaginative sound was hauntingly captivating, gripping us on a musical ride through big builds and unexpected drops, sending plenty of goosebumps our way. We just cannot get enough of this gripping SAGA. And yet some spellbinding chapters remain to this epic extravaganza; you have until the end of September for a taste of the magic – Damian Lazarus and HEART Ibiza co-founder Guy Laliberte are ones to watch out for!
