The pool party has been one of the fastest growing phenomenon’s in recent years and, as expected, Ibiza Rocks have been at the forefront. Having challenged the four-four beat stranglehold on the island with a live offering, the vibrant San Antonio destination was quick to understand that around the pool is where it was at. This summer sees a selection of fantastic artists hosting their own version – Craig David’s TS5 Pool Party, Steezey Wonderland, Lovely Laura & Ben Santiago, Cuckooland, Applebum and Garage nation, to name just a few and it all gets under way, with a two-day extravaganza on June 1 with Rudimental, Sonny Fodera, Oneman and Octavian and June 2 with Craig David, Kojo Funds, DJ Q and Amy Becker. The doors open for the season at 14.00.

The Ibiza Rocks Hotel has witnessed some magnificent gatherings over the years, from the early days with the Kooks and The Libertines to more recently with Niles Rodgers and Chic and NAS and up to date with global artists like Tinie Tempah and Craig David. There is something very rock and roll about the venue that lends itself to delivering an electric atmosphere. Surrounded on all sides by balconies overlooking the pool, which offer residents an elevated view of proceedings, the ones that aren’t front and centre getting close to their heroes that is. High energy performances from the DJs and artists that occupy the stage are positively infectious, spreading across the crowd, producing one of the liveliest of the al fresco parties.

As it gets set for the grand opening of the 2018 season, there is plenty to be getting excited about. Singer song writing hit-machine Craig David returns with his TS5 party, one of the biggest successes of the previous year. His ability to float from the booth to the stage, engaging the capacity crowd with a selection of global smashes. Applebum will brigs it legendary urban flavour poolside with a take-over between June 18 and 22. Fans of Steezey can look forward to his Wonderland pool party (opening June 5) where he will be joined by Krept & Konan, Toddla T, Steel Banglez, MS Banks and Zac Samuel. For lovers of the four-four beat, Cuckooland (opening June 8) follows up the perfect summer last year with Claptone, Josh Butler, PBR Streetgang, Jamie Roy and Suzee X behind the booth. Regular Ibiza visitors will be more than aware of Lovely Laura and Ben Santiago (Opening party June 7), a duo that complement each other from the delicious beats from the booth and the wonderous sax solos. With Garage Nation (opening June 21) featuring DJ Luck & MC Neat, Oxide & Neutrino and Matt Jam Lamont, to name just a few, there is something special for every musical taste. See you at the pool!
