Saturday nights on Ibiza are made for Pure Pacha. The slick house takeover has been one the island’s most popular evenings for countless summers. With its ace production, groovy tunes and diverse DJ bookings, Pure Pacha is a weekend clubbing option that caters to all. After taking the reins from fellow Frenchman Bob Sinclar, Martin Solveig is back with a residency under the cherries. For this August occasion, the charismatic Parisian invited Canadian DJ and producer Tiga, as well as house and disco heroes Artwork and Krystal Klear. Essential Ibiza headed to the iconic White Isle venue to see what Pure Pacha is all about.

Tiga is no stranger to Ibiza and his diverse DJ style is something that has thousands coming back for more, each and every time he plays. Opting for a darker tone, the Montreal synth-king shifted between piercing electro house and ground-shaking techno. Sam Paganini’s Rave was an atmospheric selection which brought a true intensity to the dancefloor. Tiga knows exactly how to set a tone and his unique selection style was fitting to Pure Pacha’s eclectic musical selection. This evening was set to be a comprehensive showcase of all diverse dancefloor brilliance.

With the twinned cherries shaken to their pips, Solveig stepped into the booth as the clock ran into peak Pacha hours. With an hour-and-a-half at his disposal, the house DJ and producer gradually shifted the tone into a more commercially focused one, but with all the fun and colour you’d expect at Pure Pacha. With spirits flying high, Solveig was at the peak of his powers and surprised a few with more underground selections spanning Rampa’s brilliant They Will release and Paul Kalkbrenner’s No Goodbye. Pacha was taken on a riveting dance music journey through all kinds of genres.

Determined to enjoy the full extent of this musically rich occasion, Artwork and Krystal Klear took over the controls for closing duties – and Pacha was still rocking. Going into the early hours, this back-to-back touched darkened territory with progressive house tunes like Pryda’s The Future and ARTBAT’s Upperground, before the pair – more known for their house and disco style – moved into a funkier mood. This was a real delight and was the perfect way to finish off a fantastic Saturday evening at one of the island’s best clubs.
