The Ibiza Preservation Foundation invites you to join them on September 26 and 27 at the Centro Cultural de Jesus for the Marine Forum of Ibiza and Formentera to debate the marine issues facing both islands. The gathering promises to be an annual event, with contributions from national and local experts, offering new visions, experiences and opportunities.

The Forum represents the public, private and civil sectors, which all share a concern for marine conservation and the environment in general. The goal is to generate and promote marine conservation projects for both Ibiza and Formentera by generating high level debate, identifying and proposing solutions to reverse the serious situation that currently faces the marine environment.

The three main axes of the discussion are raising the ambition of marine protected areas around Ibiza and Formentera; contribute to the effective implementation of the Ibiza and Formentera Waste Law, to be applied in 2020-21 and finally to contribute to the reduction in discharges to sea, to improve the quality of the marine waters surrounding the two islands. The gathering takes place on Thursday 26 from 17.30 until 20.00 and on Friday September 27, from 9.30 – 13.45 and again 15.30 – 19.00. The IPF has identified, researched and supported local initiatives for over 10 years, making a positive impact on Ibiza and Formentera’s environment and community during that time.
