Cocktails & Tapas On MiKasa’s Sunset Terrace

Whether you are in Ibiza on your holidays or lucky enough to live on the island year-round, if you are looking for a stylish spot to toast the end of another beautiful day on the White Isle, MiKasa Ibiza’s Terrace combines stunning views with delicious drinks and nibbles. Located in the exclusive Marina Botafoch area of Ibiza Town, the boutique hotel offers beautiful vistas on the glamorous yacht harbour and the iconic silhouette of Dalt Vila rising behind. We met up with our friends for a cheeky post-work cocktail or two to check it out!

Sitting right on the edge where the bay of Talamanca turns into the peninsula that forms the end of Ibiza Town’s vibrant harbour, MiKasa Ibiza opened its doors in the summer of 2018 and immediately impressed with its beautiful design and delicious Eastern Mediterranean food offering. Clad in turquoise tiles, with low tables and comfy sitting cushions scattered across the space the rooftop is open seven days a week between 7pm and 1am, and makes for an atmospheric spot to enjoy a city sunset. So for those occasions when you have just stepped off-board a boat or spent a day exploring cosmopolitan Ibiza Town, it’s conveniently located in walking distance.

We arrived in the golden glow of sunset around 7.30pm, just in time to watch the boats return to the harbour after a day spent at sea. Perusing the cocktail menu, which offers both alcoholic concoctions and virginal detox mixes, we choose the one ‘naughty’ and two ‘nice’ drinks. The zesty Scarlett dazzled with a unique fruity combination of elderflower, Maraschino cherry, red fruits, lime and lavender flavours fuelled by Elyx vodka – perfect for a balmy summer’s eve. From the ‘detox’ menu, we picked the heavenly creamy Ice Tanit, a mix of cranberries, coconut milk, lemon and agave syrup that tasted like a milkshake! Last, but not least, if you want to be super-saintly, the Green World alkalises all sins with a healthy cocktail of cucumber, mint and lime juice.

As we settled in to watch the sun go down behind Dalt Vila, hunger pangs struck and we ordered a selection of Levantine tapas to share. Silky hummus drizzled with premium olive oil and fluffy pitta bread to scoop it up with never fails to please, while the aromatic Moutabal aubergine puree wowed with smokiness juxtaposed with fruity hints thanks pomegranate pearls and a sprinkling of lemon parsley.

Never able to resist a tuna tartare, we swooned over the fresh, raw chunks of delicate fish topped with avocado and ‘ikura’ salmon roe. Last, but not least, another instant table favourite was the incredibly tasty Levantine pizza. Laden with juicy tomato slices, squidgy halloumi chunks, dollops of taziki sauce and fresh mint leaves, the thin and crispy base wowed with every bite. As a relaxed evening drew to a close, we left MiKasa Ibiza happy and with all senses sated – as well as with firm plans to return soon!
