Over recent years an innovative raving concept has taken the UK party scene by storm and it was only a matter of time before it returned to Ibiza for the 2016 season. Can you guess what it is? It’s the silent disco of course, courtesy of Silent Noize Ibiza, which recently added Bastion of underground beats, Sankeys Ibiza, to its impressive, ever-expanding list of Ibiza collaborators, accepting an invitation from the forward thinking club to join its talented residents and deliver a unique al fresco clubbing experience on its rooftop terrace.

Silent disco’s completely rely on impressively advanced headphones, the piece of the party’s puzzle that glues the unique clubbing experience together, allowing the various genres of musical sounds to travel into the keen ears of clubbers. Silent Noize, a stand out brand, in fact the original silent disco equipment pioneers, offers this service plus a whole lot more. With over five years providing top of the range, wireless and colour coded headphones to silent disco parties across the UK, now adding Europe to its resumè, the Silent Noize team has established a reliable name for itself. Appointed by some of the biggest international brands, such as Topshop, Google and Red Bull, to equip their big scale events with the headset technology, the team has left no stone unturned when it comes to the type of hires it offers. Catering to festivals, weddings, silent cinema, villa and private parties, conferences, corporate events, and not forgetting bar and club hire, Silent Noize is far from shy when it comes to jumping to the challenge to achieve the perfect silent disco party sensation.

When it comes to setting the bar and embracing new technology, Sankeys Ibiza has a history, never slow in realising new musical trends, the club has a history of leading from the front. Inviting Silent Noize to work alongside its own residents, Reff and Kellie Allen, part of the impressive Tribal Sessions crew, is a stroke of genius and combats the ‘no music after midnight’ rule, giving clubbers in its popular Saturday night party an options to still part al fresco to their favourite beats. Having last experienced a silent disco at Glastonbury festival a good few years ago, I was pleased to be getting another dose of this unique party experience. As we entered the Sankeys roof terrace, there was one beam of colour that stared us right in the eye from all angles, an illuminous green.  We hurried over to the member of staff bearing the famous headphones to grab a set, eager to be transported into the same sounds as the rest of the room. Silent Noize’s headphone equipment offers three music channels coded by the colours red, blue and green. Tonight’s party offered one channel (green), linking to the Reff and Kellie Allen, spinning on the roof, whilst Tribal Sessions raged in the club rooms below.

It’s safe to say, that every person on that roof was in their element, moving and grooving, smiling and cheering, as the house beats invaded their ears. A beautiful aspect of the silent disco concept is the uniting of the room, as revellers shake their hips to identical beats, creating an acknowledgement for their fellow party goers and feeling that sense of a shared experience. It was humbling to watch attendees interact with each other, people they had just met or with their groups of friends, all waving their arms in the air in appreciation for the silent partying. The Silent Noize roof terrace session meant that the silent disco groovers were blessed with a non-sweaty, crammed environment with the fresh, balmy Ibiza breeze comfortably whisking the dancing bodies in to the early morning. Sankeys Ibiza residents Reff and Kellie Allen separately delivered a blend of the finest house beats including some of the biggest summer tracks including as Reelow’s ‘This Is How We Do’ and ‘Hydroponic’ by Dennis Cruz. Bar staff too sported the headphones as they served drinks from the rooftop bar, fully immersed in tis shared experience. Sankeys Ibiza has once again embraced innovation, this time to respect the new noise reduction rules for Playa d’en Bossa but at the same time ensuring its loyal clubbers still have the chance to utilise every part of the famous underground club.
