Cas Gasi is a hideaway in the heart of Ibiza, where you switch off the phone and revel in the rich inland scenery and sophisticated charm of this elegant finca. Located in the laid back but buzzing confines of Santa Gertrudis means a wealth of cool cafes, boutiques, and eateries are all at your fingertips, should you ever leave. But don’t just listen to us, the Tatler travel guide voted it one of their 101 best hotels in the world.

Cas Gasi

Why? This is definitely one for the grown-ups; for those who appreciate fine fabrics and interior design, the faultless matching of upholstery and curtains, the elegant antique furniture and luxurious feel. Cas Gasi isn’t about gadgets or contemporary cool; it’s about timeless classics in both design and enjoyment – getting back to the good things in life – soul stirring views, luxurious bed linen, organic food, the sounds and smells of nature and blatant R&R.

They offer 6 supremely elegant room types to suit every budget and taste in interiors, all decorated to the same high standard, with private balconies or terraces, Sabina ceilings and a light and airy feel. Standard doubles go from €240 to €335 and the superb deluxe suite goes from €585 to €825, with its stunning selection of intricate Moroccan furniture with classic European pieces thrown into the mix. The bedroom is particularly inviting; under the arches with gorgeous light golden brocades, terracotta floors and rich rugs throughout. We guarantee you’ll sleep like a king, on top quality feather bedding with masses of pillows, followed by breakfast on your charming private terrace.

All rooms have spectacular views and the finca is set in beautifully maintained gardens. The grounds contain a wealth of olive, fig, carob and almond trees, are literally covered in flowers and full of fruit trees and palms, adding to the idyll and ambience, with fabulous fragrances from the real Ibiza. Breakfast is a treat, with eggs plucked straight from under the hen’s bottom, freshly squeezed orange juice and home baked breads and pastries. Cas Gasi is organic all the way, using fresh produce from its own plots and local suppliers, and is a true agrotourismo in that they farm the land. The restaurant serves organic Mediterranean cooking, they harvest their oil and cold press it locally, and get goat’s and sheep’s cheese from the neighbours to make wonderful desserts like their flao and graixonera.

But it’s not all fruit and veg; Cas Gasi are fully equipped to meet the demands of the modern traveller; you can select your pillows and duvets, get online, and indulge in a range of spa treatments from Ibiza Balance. In short, it has everything you need to really get away from it all. My favourite spot to plot is the library – an impressive yet cosy space filled with wall to wall interesting reads. You might even find me there curled up with a book, that’s if I’m not testing the pool.
