Calvin Harris Closes Out Another Perfect Pacha Ibiza Season

There we go. Calvin came, saw and conquered the Pacha twinned cherries for a second season at the iconic Ibiza Town superclub. The EDM, house and chart scaling producer has done almost everything in music. It was no shock to see him hold down one of Pacha Ibiza’s most successful residencies this year.  It’s been an almighty summer for Harris, securing two superclub takeovers, with his other Friday daytime residency at Ushuaïa Ibiza. But on this occasion, it was time to put the lid on a second season at Pacha. Here’s what went down.

Ibiza Town was a hive of activity, buzzing from street-to-street for this one. Calvin Harris is as big a household name as you’ll get. As a producer, he’s worked with some of the biggest stars on the globe; from Alesso to Ariana Grande, Example to Ellie Goulding, Ne-Yo to Nicki Minaj, Tinie Tempah to Tinchy Stryder; the list is endless. But away from his talent in the studio, Harris is as accomplished as a DJ as they come. It was time to step into Pacha, onto the dancefloor and away with Calvin Harris and his final night-time soundtrack of the summer.

But before that, we can also give a special mention to one of the island’s most popular and most travelled artists. MK has held his own residencies, rocked dancefloors all over and provided more than his fair share of summer anthems. The American DJ and producer was always going to be a top addition for this final Calvin Harris takeover of the summer. As expected, his welcoming house style, infused with all the vocals we can sing-along-to, complimented the night in perfect fashion.

Now, with two hours at his disposal, Calvin Harris, a real superstar DJ, left no tune un-played as he cleverly crafted a closing performance set, blending in his biggest hits with lesser-known techno-house tunes and with a touch of EDM. His chameleon character as a selector is profound. Despite expecting his own chart-toppers, Harris took it slightly underground as the night moved into morning, before closing it out in true euphoric brilliance. This was Calvin Harris at his very best – we can only hope for more of the same next year.
