Supermartxe Ups Its Glamour Game

Posted on June 5, 2016

Supermartxe is that party that deserves to be called the face of Privilege. While the programming of this super-club keeps changing, Supermartxe remains the stalwart and the yearly must-go. However, in 2016 it made a big move and relocated from Friday to Saturday, taking place from June 4 till October 1. This summer its line-ups will be stronger than ever, with Chuckie playing every month, Rebeka Brown coming back with her incredible weekly live PA and such heavyweight DJs as Steve Angello, Afrojack, NERVO and Deorro making occasional stellar appearances throughout the season.

Supermartxe invested a lot in the preparation to its new Saturday night residency: it has new themes, a new VIP area and lots of new high-end technological solutions, aimed at delivering the most mind-blowing visual experience. We arrived at around 2am, burning with desire to see and hear it all as soon as possible. From the get go we noticed that the party had truly raised its bar – or, better to say, its stage, because all the bars were actually at their usual places. It was the DJ booth that was installed in the form of a kiosk in the centre of the stage, elevated above the main dancefloor level. Until 2.30 people were dancing on that main level, lifting their heads and phones to watch and film the DJs – and then, half an hour before the show began, they were invited to go up the small stairs and fill in the space around the booth.

The booth was on fire. It was packed with DJs, their friends and Privilege staff, all smiling, cheering and hugging each other. Brian Cross, Abelthekid, Alex Guerrero and Salva Di Nobles were in charge of the main room soundtrack that night, with Chuckie and Yves V from Tomorrowland performing as headliners. As for Vista Club, scheduled to open later at night, it was Manuel De Diego, Hugo Sanchez and Juseph Leon who were assigned to play for the Superman project. DJs got the crowd engaged from the very first minutes, playing big room remixes of such timeless hits as Get Drill And Work, E Samba and Show Me Love.

Finally, at 3am the big black curtain was removed, and we gasped with admiration. Instead of a regular backdrop, all the huge multileveled stage was covered with screens of different sizes, transmitting high-resolution videos, impregnating the enormous club with light, drive and sexiness. The gorgeous dancers were dressed in bright neon outfits, neon crazy-coloured wigs and sky-high heels. Every single lady was leggy and curvy, every single guy was a bunch of muscle and suntan. After swaying for a while their splendid, out-of-this-world bodies, they disappeared from the stage and were replaced by just one figure that quickly attracted all the attention to herself – Rebeka Brown. Dressed in a black sequined bodysuit with yellow feather sleeves, Rebeka was a geyser of talent and charisma, and all eyes were on her. Finally, Chuckie took to the decks, accompanied by a fierce breakdance performance on stage, and drove the night to the climax.

In spite of the fact that it was just the opening and the season hadn’t properly taken off yet, the attendance was impressive. VIP tables were close to fully booked, and the crowd downstairs was rather dense and passionate. People arrived properly dressed-up, wearing cocktail dresses and elegant shirts, making sure not only the stage but the dancefloor as well was filled with eye-candy. While the exact line-ups for each date are yet to be revealed, it would be safe to say that the new chapter in Supermartxe history in Ibiza is bound to be a blast!
