Saturday October 8 sees Melon Bomb bring the curtain down on what has been its biggest summer to date. The groove loving collective has presided over countless amazing parties, packed dancefloors and vibrant atmospheres as it set about spreading its musical message and heaps of love around the clubbing capital. Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes is the place and the usual suspects of Scott Gray, Ben Santiago, Corbi and Paul Reynolds welcome Magnier (House Of Disco), Antton and the Lovely Laura to their booth.

It was pretty obvious as early as the beginning of May when the Melon Bomb crew took control of the Ushuaia Beach club opening and took a packed dancefloor on a magical musical ride littered with phat beats, throbbing basslines and more than its fair share of sing-a-long vocals, which the crowd accepted wholeheartedly. This would become a regular occurrence as it returned to its residency in Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes, Jockey Club on Salinas as well as Glitterbox and Sundays at Space. Melon Bomb is a relative newcomer to the clubbing capital but it has been a breath of fresh air, offering a burst of colour, a sense of fun and, most importantly, some of the finest soul, funk and house beats.

Reluctantly, it’s time to say goodbye to the Ibiza 2016, but not without making sure that we rinse every minute out of the closings. Scott Gray, Ben Santiago, Corbi and Paul Reynolds have delivered some amazing gatherings this year, not to mention lit up numerous island dancefloors when representing on solo missions. They have captured the imagination of locals and tourists alike and carved out an important niche on the island scene. Lovely Laura is no stranger to house loving islanders, her ability to complement a DJ set, adding to the soundtrack with some amazing sax performances has seen her at the heart of many memorable parties. Antton is another island based spinner who has made an impact whenever he has been let loose and with House Of Disco’s Magnier bringing his considerable talent to the booth for the closing, it promises t be one of the best Melon Bombs yet!
