If you are lucky enough to find yourself on the White Isle on Friday, September 13th, then you should add an extra special date to your calendar: Nassau Beach Club’s monthly celebration of the Full Moon. Witnessing the completion of the lunar cycle on Ibiza is a breath-taking experience; not only does the island grant unspoilt views on the spectacle when you know the right places to go, the magical effects of the planetary action can be felt tenfold on our little Balearic rock in the sea. Taking pride of place on the frontline of Playa d’en Bossa’s golden sands, Nassau Beach Club has perfected the art of honouring the occasion.

Guests are welcome from 20.00 onwards , and we highly recommend you secure yourself a table on the terrace overlooking the sparkling Balearic Sea for prime views on not only the Full Moon, but also the entertainment the restaurant and lounge bar puts on for the occasion. Fusing fine food with good music, tantalising fashion and a magical fire show, an evening to remember awaits you. We went along to the last Full Moon event and found it a dazzling experience for all senses.

Watching the silver planet rise slowly out of the waters is a goosebump-worthy moment as it changes its hue from pastel pink to orange and yellow until it finally takes its position in the ink-black sky in a pale shimmer. It’s the perfect occasion for one of Nassau Beach Club’s expertly mixed cocktails, and we couldn’t resist trying a couple of creations that are new for this summer.

With cocktail guru Alberto behind the bar, we were in expert hands as he skilfully prepared two beautifully decorated concoctions for us:  the Teatea Wai made with C Vine, June liquor, honey, lime juice and coconut water, and the Frida’s Night – inspired by no other than Mexican artist Frida Kahlo – mixed from Mezcal Se Busca, lemon and aloe vera water, honey pearls, agave syrup and rose powder.

In the elegant dining room, guests were tucking into the modern Mediterranean fare with an Asian twist that Nassau Beach Club has become famous for: tuna steak served with vegetables and mushrooms in a teriyaki sauce, Iberian pork on green apple foam or fresh sushi. Resident DJ Abel Pons was on deck duty and spun the perfect sexy, uplifting house music soundtrack for the occasion.

Just when we thought the night couldn’t get more atmospheric, just meters away from our seats a mesmerising fire show sprung to live on the beach. Dancing across the sands were two daring performers, twirling their flaming batons against the dark night sky in a hypnotic display. Children and grown-ups alike were mesmerised by their fantastic choreography and graceful movements. For a very  special White Isle experience with your nearest and dearest, don’t miss the next Full Moon event at Nassau Beach Club on Friday, September 13th, from 20.00 onwards.
