Billed for its 2019 inauguration were Santiago Garcia, SAGA veteran Luciano and, of course, concept founders Bedouin. When we arrived, a queue of stylish music lovers was already snaking its way around the corner, patiently waiting to enter the SAGA universe. Making our way through the entrance covered in thousands of colourful hearts, as one door closed behind us and another opened in front, we felt like we had stepped through the fictitious wardrobe in the Narnia book series, which leads into a fantastical world beyond your wildest imagination. Our expectations were not to be disappointed as we instantly walked into a half-naked beauty being body-painted with an intricate pattern. In the booth, SAGA mainstay Luciano – an Ibiza icon that needs little introduction – was serving up relaxed yet infectious house beats with an old school edge, the dancefloor in front of him already heaving. However, before joining the sea of enthusiastic clubbers, we went on a wander around the state-of-the art superclub. Up on the terrace, a night market filled with eclectic Ibiza fashions and accessories awaited, as well as tarot card readers, striking artwork and the famous heart-shaped structure framing the glittering silhouette of Dalt Vila. It is the perfect place to take a breather from the dancefloor, cool down in the breeze with a potent cocktail or cold beer and catch up with friends before returning to the cavernous main room. As its previous editions, SAGA III offers a unique, alternative and – at times – spiritual sound that elevates you to another level. As we came down the winding spiral staircase, Luciano’s set was in full flow as he served up a driving basslines interspersed by tribal drums and exotic vocals. The hip crowd was swaying with its eyes closed, completely losing themselves in the music. Finally, it was time for the dynamic duo of Bedouin to take to the booth which, as has become SAGA signature style, been decorated with lush jungle foliage and glowing candles. Psychedelic graphics of glowing embers and stark trees flickered across HEART Ibiza’s huge LED screen-clad walls, intensifying the effects of the music. Galloping into the early hours of the morning on an energetic, bouncing bassline, with trickling sound shards sending shivers down our spine, shamanic vocals made us feel as if were deep inside a sacred rainforest rave. Bedouin took us on an immersive musical journey that lasted into the early morning and left us wandering out into the streets as if we had just left a fairytale… Further Information & Reservations e: jessica@essentialibiza.com w: www.heartibiza.com share this tweet this
