Some things in life are simply priceless. Like watching a breathtaking Ibizan sunset, the utter relaxation of soaking up the sun from a comfortable bed and, most of all, the holiday feeling of knowing you don’t have to go to work the next day. One place in Ibiza that amplifies these beautiful experiences is luxury boutique hotel and spa Hacienda Na Xamena.

Sitting high atop the cliffs near San Miguel in the rural North of the island, the stunning property has become famous for its jaw-dropping sea and sunset views and sits firmly on the top of our list of most desirable wedding, or, at least, Instagram venues. And while spending time with friends and loved ones in the magical surroundings might, indeed, be priceless, the hotel team has put together some very reasonable packages that enable you to enjoy both the beautiful spa and restaurant for a day.

With three different day packages on offer, it is the perfect special treat for a mother-and-daughter outing, an afternoon of girly pampering with your friends or some romantic quality time with your partner. Each option includes 45 minutes in the spectacular Cascadas Suspendidas outdoor pool area and the choice of either one natural juice and three healthy tapas for 75 Euros, a three-course set lunch menu without drinks for 95 Euros or a three-course set dinner menu without drinks for 110 Euros.

We chose the lunch offer and, after enjoying a swim with the most incredible views in the ‘hanging’ pools 180 meters above sea level, a soothing facial and relaxing massage, headed over to open-air eatery Eden for our meal. The terraced restaurant is spread across several different levels and offers views on the hotels’ azure swimming pool, lush tropical foliage and the glittering sea and coastline beyond. We started our meal with a round of virgin cocktails, choosing the Virgen Hacienda creation made from fresh strawberries, mint, lime and lemonade, the tropical San Francisco with pineapple, pomegranate orange and melon juice, as a non-alcoholic creamy Pina Colada. Sipping on the fruity and refreshing concoctions, we couldn’t stop marvelling at the stunning vistas – and admittedly took more selfies than should be allowed.

The set menu began with a sharing platter of starters featuring innovative interpretations of Mediterranean classics. A chupito glass filled beetroot gazpacho was the perfect light palette wetter, crispy ham croquettes with a smooth and cheesy filling had us swooning and the classic grilled octopus was satisfyingly dense in texture and had a delicious grilled flavour. Chunky salmon tartar with papaya combined the sweetness of the fruit with the softness of the raw fish, and a cauliflower and curry mouse had us fighting over the last portion thanks to its exotic flavour and cloud-like texture. Vegetarian options were also available on request, making it the perfect mixture of light and healthy, as well as more indulgent options, to start our lunch with.

For the main course, the set menu combined the best of sea and land: a chicken breast served with crunchy couscous and a delicate Rojas fillet garnished with a layer of baked ricotta cheese and presented on olive tapenade. For our vegan friend, a giant heirloom tomato had been filled with a mousse of avocado and onion, bursting with flavours and giving us serious food envy. In the serene surroundings and calming atmosphere, it was the perfect opportunity to sit back, relax and savour each bite.

Hotel La Hacienda by la skimalWay too soon, it was time for our last course, a selection of desserts including a heavenly sweet crème brulee, an unusual take on the traditional éclair bursting with mango coulis and a chocolate marquis that looked like a brownie at first sight but surprised us with a soft and squishy marshmallow texture. Now firmly in foodie heaven, we concluded that heaven is indeed a place on earth, and you can get your own taste of paradise at Hacienda Na Xamena.
