Ibiza Grand Prix

After a summer that has showcases some major sporting competitions around the world, it is time for the spotlight to turn on Ibiza as it gets set to welcome the official Powerboat world championship grand prix on September 5, 6 & 7, the first time it has ever been held in Spain. The Ibiza Mediterranean Grand Prix 2014, will welcome Class-1 World Championship of powerboats and Aquabikes to the island for the first championship in an agreement that runs until 2018, putting Ibiza firmly on the international sports scene map.

The race field will be located on Playa d”en Bossa, the largest stretch of sand on the island and a unique spot that allows every spectator to experience the spectacular races. In addition to the adrenalin fuelled fun on the water, Palladium Group, Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel and Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza, located in the middle stretch of the spectator area, will offer their hi-tech facilities and outdoor stages, hosting a series of music and leisure events to add to the sports week. There are also several partner venues that will host official dinners and events throughout the duration of the competition; these include Nassau Beach, Coco Beach, Beachouse, Lips Reartes, Sands Beach Club, Sir Rocco, KM5 and Harbour Beach Club. It’s an exciting addition to the summer season in Ibiza and one that promises to deliver a white knuckle, adrenalin fuelled three days of racing, competition and partying on Playa d’en Bossa.
