Welcoming the Class-1 powerboats to the island is a massive coup for Ibiza and Spain, with the inaugural grand prix taking place on the sea facing Playa d’en Bossa beach. The boats themselves are capable of amazing speed, weighing only 5 tons and measuring 12 or 13 metres in length and they literally fly over the sea at speeds of over 250kph! It promises to be a breathtaking spectacle, add to that the vibrant Aquabikes competition, including races and freestyle sessions and it is a major sporting event for the island. The tow locations for the Mediterranean Grand Prix are Marina Ibiza, which will provide the base of the paddock and the Class-1 boxes and will be the start and finish of the races, as well as the podiums after every series. The marina will also host the freestyle night show, giving attendees a unique experience close to the action.
