Recent Features by Iain Thomson (Editor in Chief) A respected dance music journalist, DJ, and radio presenter Iain has many years experience on Ibiza as a clubber, DJ, and journalist. As Editor in Chief for Essential Ibiza Iain is responsible for the unrivalled island news coverage we are famous for. With over two decades of DJing in clubs in and around Glasgow, the UK and around the world, Iain accepted a position as assistant Editor at respected UK music publication M8 Magazine. Having fallen in love with Ibiza during his first trip to the island in 1983, he returned regularly on magazine and DJ duties. It was during this time that he first met Charlie Chester, arranging Circo Loco DC10 guest list places for the magazines fashion team. It was during a delayed flight from Ibiza to Glasgow that the first actual meeting took place, with Charlie organising a 4-date tour Magazine of Singapore, Thailand and Australia before take off! After a successful collaboration the working relationship continued before Charlie dropped idea of Essential Ibiza, that he had hatched with Philip Jordan at Blue Marlin Ibiza. The last four years has seen Iain based in Ibiza, driving the content side of the business before relocating to Singapore to launch Essential Singapore. He spends his time between the two destinations these days, managing the Ibiza team and progressing the websites profile in South East Asia.
