ULU Cliffhouse Bali Presents Mobile Disco

ULU Cliffhouse Bali can’t seem to escape the headlines at the moment, there’s no shortage of reasons to drop into the stylish new clifftop concept and the latest is one for lovers of old school house and disco as Carl Cox and Eric Powell have just announced that they will be taking their popular Mobile Disco out of Australia for the first time, dropping into the hot spot on Saturday May 19. Hot on the heels of a huge Mobile Disco in Melbourne, which featured a surprise appearance and performance from Ce Ce Penniston, this is definitely not one to be missed. One of the real Ibiza icons, Carl Cox is as big a pull off the clubbing capital as he is on and, as Essential gets set to launch its Bali platform, we can’t wait to get started. Here’s a taste of what the Ibiza community can look forward to when it heads to this island paradise.

Originating in Melbourne, Carl Cox and Eric Powell’s Mobile Disco started life as a party for 150 close friends that took on a life of its own, growing year on year to the hip shaking, earth trembling homage to house, funk and disco that it is today. The boutique party has had outings at many of Australia’s finer venues and is set to venture to the idyllic island of Bali on Saturday May 19 for its debut at ULU Cliffhouse. Catch Carl Cox and Eric Powell as they dig through their considerable respective crates, picking out some of the tracks that inspired them as early DJs as well as some of the hottest nuggets that have featured in their many sets over the years. It offers a nostalgic and fun afternoon and a musical journey second to none.

Having received multiple offers to take Mobile Disco outside of Oz, this is the first time the duo has accepted and, if any of you have spent any time in ULU Cliffhouse, you’ll understand why. The obvious initial attraction is its unbelievable view, from the minute you walk through reception and into the stylish open-air space, you can’t help but grab a few pics. To say ULU Cliffhouse is Instagramable is the understatement of the year! It doesn’t have a bad side! Mobile Disco is custom built for an intimate space and, while Cliffhouse is not tiny, it does have that cosy feel about it. Luxurious loungers and daybeds are dotted throughout the gardens, the bar and restaurant offer space for chilling or snacking on a delicious menu and there are tables at the edge of the cliff that offer uninterrupted panoramic views of the area.

No stranger to hosting top international talent, recent appearances from Nic Fancuilli and Norman Jay MBE put Cliffhouse firmly on the global map but something tells us that Mobile Disco might deliver something very special indeed. Carl Cox and Eric Powell in charge of the booth for a minimum of eight hours, delivering a musical masterclass to the elegant venue is just what the doctor ordered!
