Pacha Ibiza has announced the return of Solomun for 21 dates from Sunday May 27 until October 14. The Diynamic boss has made Sunday night his own with the plus one concept, inviting a selection of peers to join him in the relocated booth on the dancefloor as they take the crowd on a musical journey before going back to back to end the night! As he gets set for his sixth Sunday season in Pacha, he can look back on some fantastic booth battles last year with Dixon, Âme, Mano le tough and DJ Tennis, to name only a few.

In an era of huge DJ line-ups, inspired by our love of festivals, there’s something refreshing about the stripped back approach that Solomun + 1 delivers. One protagonist a constant through every week of the summer, joined each week by one guest, giving them both the time and space to create something special, and very often they do! The ability to really exercise those creative muscles and explore the full range of the record crate is something that the DJs invited to join Solomun on Sunday night in Pacha relish. There are very few opportunities to take your time in working the crowd, and to be given that chance in one of the world’s iconic main rooms alongside one of the most talented of international artists is the perfect invitation.

One of the most engaging aspects of Solomun +1 is the moving of the Pacha booth. Traditionally in an elevated location looking across the main room, Solomun asked that it be relocated to the heart of the dancefloor for his Sunday residency and the effect was immediate and spectacular. Placing the DJs in the middle of the action, with eye contact with the floor has resulted in some unbelievable parties and an electric atmosphere that gets super charged when Solomun and his guest go back to back to end the night. With 21 weeks to look forward to, fans of the Sunday night are understandably excited to see the season line-up. One thing is for sure, no matter who joins Solomun in the booth this summer, we can expect fireworks!
