Ibiza 2017 delivered a number of highlights, none better than the return of Sasha and John Digweed to an Ibiza DJ booth together, thanks to the island debut of respected global brand Resistance from ULTRA Worldwide. After a dream debut summer season, the good news is that Resistance will return to Privilege on July 17, for the start of a nine week residency that will takeover Tuesday nights until September 11.

Any party that announced Sasha and John Digweed as its main residents was always going to grab the attention of Ibiza lovers. The duo played an integral part in the early evolution of the island, as it became the clubbing powerhouse we know today. Expectation levels were understandably high as the opening party approached. For all those with memories of nights spent in sweat covered venues in the company of perhaps the most famous of electronic dance duos, the thought of reliving some of those magical moments was almost too much to bear and for those that had never had the pleasure, the chance to see what all the fuss was about was not one to ignore. Privilege main room was transformed in typical Resistance fashion, using huge sound and state-of-the-art lighting and visuals as a capacity crowd welcomed the brand new party and no one was disappointed.

What followed was a series of magical gatherings featuring a stack of hugely talented international talent, including Dubfire, Eats Everything, Kevin Saunderson, Martin Buttrich, Nic Fancuilli, Monika Kruse, Nicole Moudaber and DJ Tennis, to name only a fraction of the talent pool. So far, there is no line-up announcement but just looking at the depth of talent that took charge of the booth last summer should have all self-respecting dance music lovers booking their tickets immediately! With a rich history of hosting larger than normal events, ULTRA Worldwide and Resistance landed in Ibiza with a huge reputation, but, as we all know, that means nothing on the clubbing capital; you still have to earn your stripes. I think it’s fair to say that Resistance lived up to the pre-season hype and delivered a faultless first summer. So much so that the team has been working hard all winter, in between some pretty large events around the world, to build on that impressive start, and it all kicks off on Tuesday July 17!
