STK Ibiza Presents Julian Lennon’s Photographies Posted on August 2, 2016 Words: Iain Thomson share this tweet this After a successful opening that brought SEEN, the Godfather of graffiti, to the Opera Gallery, STK Ibiza returns with another innovative exhibition, this time round from Julian Lennon. From August 9 Julian Lennon’s ‘Photographies’ exhibition will take pride of place in the new venue, located below the Ibiza Corso hotel in the exclusive Marina Botafoc district. STK Ibiza has made an immediate impact on Ibiza, not just for the celebrities visiting the world famous steakhouse or the events that offer a late night party option, but for bringing exciting and art from some of the world most innovative artists. The latest exhibition – from August 9 until September 4, in collaboration with Coburn Projects – sees world famous singer, songwriter, musician and producer Julian Lennon showcase his alternative artistic side – the documentary film producer, fine art photographer and the philanthropist. There seems no limit to his creative ability, Julian Lennon – ‘Photographies’, is yet another reason to visit the latest addition to the high-end Ibiza landscape. To say Julian Lennon’s formative years were unique is somewhat of an understatement, he has always thought he observed life differently, an opinion he would be hard pushed to find an argument against. His journey has contributed significantly to how he expresses his creativity and nothing could be more apparent than through ‘Photographies’, where he reveals his keen eye for composition and a gift for capturing an intimate moment. The exhibition gives Ibiza the first chance to enjoy a series of photographs that originate from his 2011 album ‘Everything Changes’. In each print, layered images are captured within the shape of a butterfly, symbol of soul and transformation, that slowly uncover lyrical and fragile, intimate compositions. A portion of the proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to The White Feather Foundation, a global environmental and humanitarian organisation founded by Julian Lennon in 2007. The foundation focuses on education, health, conservation and the protection of indigenous culture as well as partnering with organisations around the world, including the Amazon Conservation Team, Charity: Water, Connect To Learn, Interactions & Solidarity, Lupus Foundation of America, Millennium Promise, Monaco Red Cross and Studio Samuel Foundation, to raise funds for the betterment of all life and to honour those that have made a difference. www.julianlennon-photography.com www.whitefeatherfoundation.com www.julianlennon.com Julian Lennon’s ‘Photographies’ will be at STK Ibiza from August 9 to September 4 share this tweet this
