Pacha Goes Knee Deep In Ibiza Posted on June 28, 2016 Words: Jason Eybe share this tweet this Friday nights in Pacha have been Insane, since the club went through its reshuffle a couple of years back. The concept has flown the flag, offering an underground option to kick start the weekend and witnessing some of the finest DJs and producers on the planet come together to generate one of the best island atmosphere’s. Ibiza 2016 saw Insane take things to another level, announcing a series of mini- takeovers, the latest of which, Knee Deep In Ibiza, saw Hot Since 82 in charge of the famous Pacha booth. Knee Deep is no stranger to Pacha, as an early clubber and worker and more recently having played there on numerous occasions, but Ibiza 2016 sees him given the reigns of the Friday night party for three special takeovers, the first of which on Friday June 24 saw Booka Shade, Santé & Sidney Charles and Alex Kennon join him. Insane has built an army of followers, on and off the island, delivering consistently high quality line-ups, the decision to extend the invitation to some of the most exciting DJs/ club brands to join the Friday night has anticipation level soaring. Ibiza has enjoyed a lightening start to the new season, numbers are through the roof and clubs are enjoying attendances more similar to peak season. Hot Since 82 got ready for the big launch with a warm up party at Jockey Club in Salinas, his unique underground vibe setting the perfect pre-club mood in one of our favourite spots on the island. The main event, however, was the Pacha debut and Ibiza was clearly excited about the proposition, with droves of clubbers filling the main room for the first Knee Deep party. Alex Kennon has been a constant in the Insane booth in recent years, his ability to set the club up with the perfect foundation has not gone unnoticed and the floor is simmering nicely when he hands the booth over to the first of two duos for the evening, Santé and Sidney Charles. Having played back to back on numerous occasions in the past, the duo settled into an instant rhythm, taking control of the floor and embarking on a bass driven journey that delivered hypnotic grooves, to an eager dancefloor. Booka Shade picked up the baton and ran with it next, with a typically energetic performance that included live percussion. There are certain international performers who could fall back on a poker career but not these two, there is absolutely no doubt what is on their mind as they rock the main room. Bobbing about the booth, ear-to-ear grins, having as much fun as the legions on the floor. By the time Hot Since 82 plugs in his headphones, Pacha is well and truly rocking. What follows is a deep and bubbly journey through some of the best deep and tech house as the talented headliner gets his Pacha debut off to a flyer. If the spinner had allowed himself to dream about the perfect start to his Pacha collaboration, I can only imagine this is what it would have looked like. The room is bathed in deep reds and soft blues, the dancers are typically sexy, delivering body bending performances, complementing the groove and some of the most glamorous clubbers on the island are doing their best to create the perfect atmosphere. It was the perfect start of the three date takeover and for those that didn’t get the chance to sample the unique vibe, there are two more chances, on Friday July 15 and August 5. - 2017 ListingsVenue: Music style: Doors: Address: share this tweet this
