Dunes Ibiza Closes In Style Posted on October 16, 2017 Words: Olivia Ebeling Images: Tamara Sini share this tweet this With the closing parties now going on well into October and many of the super clubs extending their residencies for just a few little extra parties, this summer the island has done a spectacular job of drawing out summer for as long as possible. But with Halloween approaching fast we can no longer drag our heels and have to accept the fact that another season in Ibiza has come to an end. And last night, popular Playa d’en Bossa hotspot Dunes Ibiza brought its shutters down with a combination of delicious drinks, tasty food and great music! It’s been another busy season for the restaurant and bar and its welcoming team, who have kept us fed, watered and happy all summer long with hearty breakfasts during the International Music Summit (and also after the closing parties), lunches just a stone’s throw from the beach and relaxed dinners to fuel up for the nocturnal adventures ahead. Dropping in for a quick frozen yoghurt after a day of catching the rays or enjoying a game of pool while waiting for the guestlist queues to go down, there was always a friendly face to greet us like family whenever we stopped by. So it came as no surprise that last night’s closing party had people trickling in from all over the island, with revellers enjoying one last opportunity to catch up with friends over one of Dunes’ generous sharing platters and toast the night ahead with one of the expertly mixed creations from the extensive cocktail menu. Narrowly missing out on the Halloween celebrations in a couple of weeks, the fun-loving Dunes team had made the effort to show off their best spooky looks at their final fiesta, with some impressive Day of the Dead inspired face paint to be admired. Guests who wanted to join the fun had the opportunity to have make-up applied at a pop-up face paint stall, which we of course couldn’t resist. To celebrate another successful summer, partygoers were treated to a complimentary welcome drink of sparkling wine with which to toast the occasion. DJ Raycos Santos had the honour of opening the night, playing the perfect mix of infectious electronica that made us want to dance like we still had all summer to look forward to! Every table was taken and there was a noticeable buzz in the air, with groups of friends laughing and soaking up the vibrant atmosphere and workers who had spent the summer grafting away finally getting a chance to catch up with their peers. Tom Pool was next in the booth, a popular face that can regularly be spotted at the Nassau Group’s celebrations and an expert at keeping the energy up! It’s incredible to think that after two weeks of back-to-back closings we still somehow found the energy to kept caught up in the fun, and when we eventually left – a lot later than we should – we had another great night to add to our 2017 summer memories. Until next year! share this tweet this
