One Final Fantastical Fling At Elements Ibiza

Yoga sessions overlooking the beautiful bay of Benirras beach. Friends catching up over delicious food while the kids run around with their brightly painted faces. Fairytale characters appearing out of nowhere and disappearing into the crowd that is losing themselves to the tech house beats that have filled up the dance floor after darkness descended… As it has become tradition, last night’s seasonal closing of Elements Ibiza fused all the best aspects of what makes the White Isle so special, bringing together locals, year-round residents and island visitors in the know for one final fiesta.

Despite its remote location in the rural North, the boho chic restaurant, lounge bar and wellness destination never fails to pull in the crowds, an eclectic mix of authentic Ibiza hippies, music connoisseurs, the spiritual-minded and international visitors, all united in the pleasure of enjoying the seaside destination’s beautiful surroundings, culinary offering and magical entertainment.

Collaborating with Energy Week, the celebrations began in the early afternoon with a variety of wellness activities such as yoga classes on the beach, energetic therapies and massages by Elements’ own team of experts, tempting revellers to relax and pamper themselves. Many used the opportunity to enjoy a last meal on the elegant restaurant’s terrace, making the most of the mild October climes. Feasting on either the fresh and innovative Mediterranean fare that has won the venue a host of foodie fans or tucking into piping hot slices from the adjacent pizza bar, every table was filled with families, groups of friends and even loyal pets who were eyeing up at the tasty food in the hope for a little snack.

Tarot readers offered a glimpse into the future for those brave enough to ask, while the kids were mesmerised by a magician and his tricks. A tattoo artist was offering inkings on the beach as well as demonstrating his skills with a live painting show, with a life coach holding workshops on love, work and self empowerment to complete the eclectic spectrum of personal growth activities. And as always, the mini hippy market was there to tempt us with colourful fashion, jewellery and accessories.

After the sun had set, the focus shifted on the musical part of the closing fiesta, with Elements favourite Bahramji taking to the stage to mesmerize his audience with his hypnotic world music. Using exotic instruments such as the Persian Santoor to create poetic soundscapes mixed with the irresistible funky bass and hypnotic vocals of Hot Ice Band frontman Paul Powell, few could resist the exotic sounds luring them to the dance floor. A bellydancer in a colourful costume was showing off her moves as she twirled amidst the members of the fascinated audience.

Of course, it wouldn’t be an Elements gathering if there weren’t plenty of theatrical surprises and as the day progressed into night plenty of fairytale characters made an appearance. Stilt walkers were handing out miniature hearts to the crowd, a welcome sentiment that echoed the ‘love, peace and harmony’ movement many members of the Ibiza community believe in. A twirling dervish called the Light Catcher was dressed and masked in all white, dancing on the pitch black beach with cosmic visuals projected onto their costume – a truly spectacular sight floating through the darkness like a nocturnal butterfly.

By now the beach club was seemingly bursting at the seams, with revellers spilling out onto the sands. Elements veteran Andy Baxter took to the decks and whipped the crowd into a frenzy with his bouncy and energetic house sound. He was followed by DJ duo System Of Survival, who kept the energy sky high with an infectious mix of funky tracks. As every year, people were losing themselves in the music and dancing their hearts out until the early hours, seeing another successful season at Elements Ibiza off in style.
