It’s been another strong summer for Blue Marlin Ibiza Marina, the group’s stylish eatery/ lounge overlooking Ibiza Marina. It has become a popular destination throughout the day for the cosmopolitan crowd that descend on the marina every summer. Nested into its own corner, surrounded by luxury yachts from around the world and with stunning view of Ibiza Town and the Dalt Vila, it makes for a tranquil spot to chill and watch the world go by, when its not hosting a vibrant gathering as it did on Saturday September 24, as it celebrated its grand finale.

While Blue Marlin Ibiza Marina is in its element at numerous points during the day – the healthy luxury breakfast is the only way to start your day and the cocktails at sunset are delicious and the perfect way to set up the evening – there is something very special about this destination when the sun has gone down. The soft lighting sets a chilled, romantic mood, the view to the Dalt Vila becomes magical as it glows in the dark in the distance and the Peruvian inspired menu that it offers is simply mouth watering. Add some beats from long time resident Oscar Akagy and you might forget to leave!

There was nothing melancholic about the grand finale, the staff is as upbeat as it was at the opening and throughout the stamina testing summer season, you get the feeling it’s a pleasure to come to work in this spot. We love dropping into Blue Marlin Ibiza Marina, checking out the unbelievable yachts that surround it and allowing ourselves to dream but, whether you are the owner of one of these super-yachts cruising your way around the world’s best destinations or dropping in for a healthy juice before returning to bed after the longest night on the dancefloor, the minute you step foot in Blue Marlin Ibiza Marina, you are treated like part of its extended family.

Saturday night saw a mixture of tourists-in-the-know and regulars congregate to sample the delicious food and drinks menu for the last time before the eatery takes a well-earned break. One of our favourites, the ceviche selection was a popular order of the night, as it made its way, passed us, to tables of eager diners, keen for that fresh taste for the last time. Bottles of bubbles popped in celebration and the talented mixologists behind the bar delivered multi-coloured concoctions to all and sundry. It was not a time for holding back, Blue Marlin Ibiza Marina was going out in style. Talking of mixologists, Oscar Akagy offered the perfect soundtrack to the final night, with deep beats that eased effortlessly between deeper dubbier house to more vocal and even something a little techier as the night progressed. It was the ideal end to what has been a special summer on the Marina and Blue Marlin Ibiza Marina can rest easy knowing it has made a significant contribution to countless summer experiences.
