As taste The Punch gets started on its first Ibiza assault, the popular London based party has announced two special events during its Eden Ibiza Friday night residency on August 11 and September 15. Two showcase events will feature the best of UK grime, garage and hip-hop and will feature heavyweight artists Giggs, Mike Skinner & Murkage, Charlie Sloth, Preditah, DJ Target and Rude Kid.

One of the foundations of the Taste The Punch party has been its willingness to offer a musical cutting edge, not afraid to experiment with its line-up, while maintaining a principled approach that has won it a legion of followers in and around the UK capital. With its debut Ibiza residency, the party has stuck to its philosophy, offering clubbers in San Antonio and around the island a genuine alternative every Friday night. The two special showcase events, on Friday August 11 and September 15 will see the party break from the four-four beat and offer a taste of some of the best of UK grime, hip-hop and garage, featuring some of the most innovative artists of each genre.

Starting life in Luton, Taste The Punch has hosted a wide variety of dance music artists, from Pete Tong to Claptone, giving its loyal crowd a chance to witness some of the most exciting talent on the international scene. The two special Eden showcases sees it bring the very best of Britain to the heart of San Antonio. The two-part series gets under way on Friday August 11 when The Streets frontman Mike Skinner joins forces with the Murkage cartel for what promises to be a raw and explosive taste of the underground. BBC Radio 1 Xtra DJ Target will also be on hand to add his considerable talent to proceedings and the line-up is completed by Preditah, the Birmingham born grime artist, one of the hottest up-and-coming stars of the UK scene, on the back of his FabricLive mix series.

The final showcase event is another gathering that you cannot afford to miss. It sees Giggs, one of the biggest grime stars of the present drop into Ibiza. The XL Recordings star has numerous Eps and LPs to his name and has recently featured on Drake’s ‘More Life’ EP. BBC Radio 1 Xtra’s Charlie Sloth bring his unique charm and party experience to Friday September 15 and there is also a return for Preditah, the only artist playing both events. The final name on the line-up is another hot up-and-coming talent, Rude Kid. With releases on all the top labels as well as collaborations with the likes of Skepta, Rude Kid is definitely one to watch. The debut Taste The Punch Ibiza season is looking fierce with some of the most innovative artists on the planet dropping in to make sure Frida night in Eden is one of those must try parties.
