One of the eye-catching announcements pre-Ibiza 2016 was the move to Pacha on Tuesday nights of Maceo Plex and his Mosaic concept. Occupying the old Flower Power spot with a cutting edge party that featured many of his label stalwarts alongside some of the most innovative artists of a generation, not to mention the popular spinner himself, proved to be a master stroke as it exceeded all expectations. Pacha has announced that Mosaic will return for its second season, kicking off on Tuesday May 30 and running until October 3.

The boundary challenging party will maintain its philosophy of inviting innovative and exciting artists that are prepared to push the sonic parameters to the limits, delivering a unique weekly soundtrack for the legions of followers that have already made Pacha’s new Tuesday night one of the go-to parties on the island. Maceo Plex took Ibiza to a parallel cosmos last summer, under the guiding light of Mosaic, the ruler of this magical universe, where musical colours collided to produce a rainbow of electronic sounds. The policy of booking island talent, alongside a breed of new international artist proved hugely successful as it captured the imagination of clubbers looking for something less predictable from their party, something that will continue as Mosaic returns to Pacha for its second summer.

At the core of this musical voyage into outer space is Maceo Plex, a DJ that has always held a place in the hearts of Ibiza clubbers, both islanders and those on an annual pilgrimage to the clubbing capital in search of new music. His weekly appearance guarantees a big turn-out but one of the features of the debut season was the people that he surrounded himself with. The talent that dropped into the Pacha booth alongside the spinner consistently challenged the packed dancefloor, which reacted accordingly, lapping up the various soundscapes that filled the famous room from week to week. Names like John Talabot, Dj Koze, Kiasmos, Len Faki, Carl Craig, Stephan Bodzin, Adam Beyer and Roman Flugel offered one of the most eclectic season line-ups and played a big part in establishing the new party right out of the blocks.

The Ibiza 217 line-up has yet to be released but, given the pedigree that littered the debut season, fans of the Tuesday night party have nothing to worry about in terms of quality. 2017 also marks a special milestone in the famous club’s journey, as it celebrates its fiftieth anniversary, five decades that has seen the island change dramatically, evolving into the most important destination in electronic dance music, with Pacha at the forefront. It promises to be an extraordinarily good summer for the twin cherries and the announcement of the return of Mosaic will play an integral part in that.
