With the sun kissing your face, the breeze ruffling your hair and your feet being warmed by the hot sand, a day at the beach is one of the best experiences you can enjoy on the White Isle. Offering a relaxed vibe, great food and the perfect Balearic soundtrack, Tanit Beach Ibiza is one of our favourite seaside destinations to enjoy some quality time on the island’s golden sands, a great choice whether you’re spending time with family, friends or your other half. The elegant beach club plays host to a multitude of imaginative events throughout the year, and this weekend the team invited guests to join in their Queen’s Day celebrations.

Originating in the Netherlands, the Dutch holiday has been adopted by many other countries and, with its fun-loving spirit and expat community, Ibiza is the perfect place to hosts its own tribute to the day. When we arrived at Tanit Beach in the early afternoon, we were greeted by a mini market outside of the venue, a colourful assembly of stalls offering second-hand and original clothes, jewellery, leather goods, children’s toys and much more. Guests had the option to book their own stand ahead of the event, a fun way to clear out your wardrobe or house ahead of the new season and earn some cocktail money! From vintage cameras to Disney’s Frozen fancy dress costumes, the market was a real treasure trove and many revellers stopped for a look around on their way into Tanit Beach.

Despite the somewhat temperamental April weather, the sun was fighting its way through the clouds and shone down on the beach club’s terrace, where guests were toasting the weekend with jugs of sangria and tucking into treats such as red chicken curry, Thai beef salad and Tanit Beach Ibiza’s signature burger – one of the best on the island in our humble opinion! Overlooking the Mediterranean sea and the powdery sands of Playa d’en Bossa, the holiday vibes couldn’t have been more exhilarating! Orange balloons and fresh tulips were paying tribute the home country of Queen’s Day, and some guests were sporting the zesty citrus colour in honour of the occasion.

Vocalist Lotus performed a set of ambient tracks including a chill out version of classic Eurythmics hit Sweet Dreams that send shivers down our spine. With the sun getting stronger as the afternoon went on, many revellers started to trickle onto the beach and set up camp on Tanit Beach Ibiza’s spacious daybeds, soaking up the rays and listening to the atmospheric music. A great line-up of DJs awaited later in the day, with Martijn Ten Velden, Ken Abel, Donaes and Johannes all on the roster to provide infectious beats to keep us dancing all day long!

But, for the relaxed afternoon setting, an acoustic guitar performance provided a blissful backdrop for that #beachlife, drifting into our ears as we toasted the holiday with a crisp glass of rose from the comfort of our huge sunlounger. Time flies not only when you’re having fun but also when you are utterly chilled out, and after several hours of revelling in the relaxing but vibrant atmosphere of Tanit Beach Ibiza, we felt ready to (reluctantly) return to reality.
