For the Melon Bomb Crew, the last couple of years have been a whirlwind of success, with their boutique island party growing, wining fans from all over the world and invites to play many of the finest parties on and off the island. Not to mention several high profile residencies for their fun-loving, musically astute crowd to fill. The guys could be excused for spending an evening slapping each other to make sure it’s not a dream. The latest melon Bomb explosion took place at world famous sunset spot and Ibiza pre-party specialists Café Mambo.

Paul Reynolds, Scott Gray, Corbi and Ben Santiago were all in attendance as they got the week off to a flyer with the unique house and disco vibe that has seen them dominate booths across the island and even take to the stage at this year’s Glastonbury! The amazing success story is no accident of course, each of the artists in the collaboration are talented spinners, more than capable of rocking whichever floor they find themselves overlooking. Together, they form a potent force, bonded through a love for the music and a principled approach to hosting a party that the Ibiza crowd has a nose for and respects, the Melon Bomb journey from intimate local party to genuine island heavyweight has been well deserved and is nowhere near reaching its climax just yet.

Café Mambo has witnessed some unbelievable Ibiza moments during its island tenure, from the days when Pete Tong used to broadcast to the world on Friday night from the custom built studio above the famous bar to Carl Cox making his live debut playing keys with the Brand New Heavies and numerous amazing pre-parties from the world’s biggest DJs. The sunset is one of the most popular points of the day at Mambo, as tourists and islanders witness the end of another day, perfectly sound tracked by Pete Gooding and Danny O before the Melon Bombers took over the booth.

The area in front of the booth was packed as many of the Café Mambo regulars got their first view of the DJ combo that is grabbing headlines all over the clubbing capital. The walkway on the promenade also full, as clubbers get set for another big night on the island by checking out the funkiest of pre-parties. They were not disappointed. The four amigos took turns to drop funk-fuelled melon bombs on the crowd, dovetailing with ease as they have done on so many previous occasions. The latest episode every bit as entertaining as the many before as the crew take every opportunity to win friends and make people dance.
