Late Summer Days At El Chiringuito Posted on September 26, 2015 share this tweet this In an uncertain world there are few things we can rely on – the idea that death and taxes are the only two of those things is too miserable to contemplate. So at least in Ibiza there are some guarantees – like the fact there will always be sun (even if it’s intermittent), and the fact you can find a good party whatever day of the week it is, and that El Chiringuito in Es Cavallet is one of the finest beach clubs on the island, so whether you turn up for breakfast, lunch or dinner, you can expect to be bowled over by its awesomeness – that in itself should help us sleep a little easier at night. But if you’re looking for proof, then read on, because there’s no problem in proving this point. El Chiringuito is one of the island’s original and most loved beach clubs. With a beachside location in Es Cavallet, it’s surrounded by undulating sand dunes and the salt flats of Salinas – a setting that’s hard to beat on the atmospheric scale. The restaurant itself is a bustling hub of activity that’s busy at all times of day, every day of the week. People are lured there in search of the ideal long lunch or romantic dinner, the finest cocktails and the most kick-starting of breakfasts. Once there they find themselves immediately relaxing among the sandblasted backdrop, sinking into a state of contentment while looking out at the stunning vistas. During the day the soundtrack is the epitome of laid-back but upbeat cool, and comes courtesy of residents Mr Doris, Andy Baxter and Mina. Reggae tracks are interspersed with funky, soulful beats, so tapping your toes in the sand becomes an obligatory side affect of every visit. All this goes some way to explaining why El Chiringuito is celebrating another exceptional year, but there is just a natural magic to this place. The owners have tapped into the essence of everything that’s great about a day at the beach and supersized it purely for everyone else’s delight. So if you hire one of its luxurious day beds, you’ll have cocktails and food delivered to you without having to move a muscle (try the cava sangria, it’s famous on the island). And if you book a table for lunch or dinner you’ll be amazed by the simple but beautifully executed menu. Everything at El Chiringuito is about quality, so only the finest ingredients are used and the attention to detail is what makes even the modest of plates pop. Even the on-site boutique is a thing to behold – even you’re going to pay it a visit make sure you put aside some serious time because you’ll be browsing its diminutive but well curated rails for longer than you think. So as ever, there’s as much reason to celebrate this year as there always is, ad that’s exactly what the team there will be doing on Sunday 17 October, when the annual closing party is held. This is an event that’s marked into islanders’ diaries as not to be missed, so make yourself available and head down for what’s sure to be one of the closing fiestas of the summer. share this tweet this
