Jull And Jerom Exhibition

Having made a huge impact in its debut season, Payesa Ibiza is not slow in giving something back to the island, sponsoring the forthcoming ‘The Real Thing’ art exhibition in gallery Exibizanismus, featuring Jull, surrealist artist and Jerom a hyper-realist artist that began life as a graffiti artist. The exhibition launches on Friday October 24 at 20.00h and runs until November 24 2014. Payesa is keen to highlight some of the amazing talent that can be found on this magical island and Jull and Jerome is a fine example. Jull owns the gallery but it is very much a showcase for both of their extraordinary talents.

With his formative years spent as a graffiti artist, Jerom paints using only a spray can and the result is breathtaking, only by looking very closely and possibly by being given the information, can you tell that it is not a photograph. He has a unique ability to capture the personality of a person in his portrait, engaging the viewer instantly and offering layers of depth, all from the tip of his spray can. The 35-year-old artist was born in Ibiza and since the early 90’s his work has decorated walls around the island, part of the first band of graffiti painters ever formed in Ibiza. Nowadays his work has evolved from the raw talent he displayed to that of a finely tuned perfectionist that has led him to develop a hyperrealist style with his own brand mark. He has a list of clients of all shapes and sizes and his work can be seen in many exhibitions around the world.

Jull is a surrealist, a painter who creates a world of bizarre figures and unusual landscapes with meticulous precision, a trait he shares with Jerom. Through a technique of accuracy and precision his images appear simultaneously surreal and hyper-realistic. The fusion of these two homegrown talents offers a vibrant firework of colours, ideas and great handmade work, rarely seen in Ibiza. Payesa Ibiza could not have gotten its debut season off to a better start, so, when they get behind something and tell us it is worth a look, we know that they will be true to their word. Check out two of Ibiza’s talented artists, from differing backgrounds, but with a shared passion of precision that offers a spectacular exhibition in Gallery Exibizanismus from Friday October 24 at 20.00h.
