Feel The Essence Of Atzaro Chiringuito Posted on October 27, 2014 share this tweet this Words: Graham Currie Images: Andres Iglesias. When Atzaro first announced it was opening a beach concept, the imagination began to run riot. Given the beauty and level of service that we had come to expect and enjoy from the Agroturismo in the heart of the campo, the expectations on and off the island towards the beach were only going one way. When Atzaro Beach was finally revealed, it didn’t disappoint, two venues overlooking Cala Nova, offering a variety of options for your day at the beach, from a fine dining fish restaurant on the edge of the mini cliff above the beach and the chiringuito situated on the beach itself. Atzaro’s beach concept had arrived and has wasted no time in winning an army of friends and fans across the island and beyond. We are heading north for the afternoon, as the island slowly but surely takes its foot off the gas and settles into a more tranquil out of season pace. It’s early evening and the Chiringuito is our destination point, where Nova Essence gathers for the last time this year, inviting its cool band of beach lovers to “feel the essence” one last time. Cala Nova is a stunning cove in the north of the island, just at the back end of Es Cana, offering a delicious slice of sand and some clear blue water, perfect for soaking up the sun and swimming in the summer and not too shabby when it comes to grabbing a wave or two surfing in the winter. There are no waves to be found today, however, the sun is high in the sky and there is that little edge in the air that lets you know that Autumn has arrived. The perfect time to drop in on one of our favourite hang-outs. Atzaro Chiringuito offers a varied menu, perfect for families at the beach for the day and not painful on the wallet. From smoothies to burgers to healthy and innovative salads, there is something for everyone in a warm and friendly environment with some cool music, this afternoon, provided by Miguel Garji and Xicu Portas. It’s another busy day on the island with some of the other beach concepts choosing this day to host closing celebrations but Chiringuito has attracted a cool local crowd all sporting that accessory that lets you know what time of year it is, no matter how hot it is – jackets! The extra layer is not necessary just yet as we chill out and enjoy a fresh cocktail and soak in the funky groove as we look out over the breathtaking view. Ibiza is blessed with countless amazing vistas, everywhere you go on the island there is a spectacular view to be seen and this one is up there with the best. The beach is a shadow of its former self, the bustling, vibrant family friendly stretch of sand is peppered with a few sun worshipers with the lapping of the waves on the shore replacing the creaming of kids playing. It’s a fitting backdrop to the last Nova Essence of this summer and, as day drifts into night, the beats get a little tougher, the jackets go on and the Chiringuito lights up it’s own part of the beach. 2014 has been another successful season as friends old and new found their way to this magical spot, thoughts of long hot days and noisy lunches with friends in Chiringutio will keep us warm through the winter that approaches. In the mean time, Chiringuito is open daily from 10 until 18.00h until Sunday November 9. share this tweet this
