Amnesia Closes 2015

Amnesia has enjoyed one of its best Ibiza summer seasons to date, the iconic Ibiza venue has played host to some unbelievable residencies – Cocoon, Together/ Defected In The House, Hyte, Cream, Music On, La Troya and House Of Madness ensured that the world’s best DJs dropped in to entertain the masses all summer, whether you prefer your dance music on the techno, house, bass heavy, trance or EDM tip. Having witnessed some of the most memorable Ibiza parties throughout the season, the Amnesia closing party had a lot to live up to, but then, traditionally it is one of the best of all the Ibiza closing parties. The clubbing marathon has been known to run well passed its allotted closing time.

The beauty of the Amnesia closing party is that it brings together musical tribes under the one roof for one party, it appeals to a variety of dance music fans and sees some of the biggest names that have played in the venue during the summer return for one last gathering. Ibiza 2015 closing saw Gorgon City, Joseph Capriati, Maceo Plex, Mar-T, Martinez Brothers, MK, Pan-Pot, Popof, Reboot and Tale Of Us headline, with Amnesia residents Caal, Cuartero, Hector Couto, Les Schmitz, Luca Donzelli, Melanie Ribbe and Renato Ratier provide ample support. The venue was packed from the off, with a massive crowd descending on San Rafael to make sure it got the very most out of the last party. The Amnesia closing sees a hardcore clubbing community dance for hours, soaking up the unique vibe, making new friends on the floor as the sun rises. There are also those that have been working elsewhere, or those that set the alarm for first thing and head to the club, meaning that it is at capacity from the minute it opens its doors until the last beat the next day.

The chat at the start of the night was that the event would finish at 6am, the council for the area having refused to let the party roll on as it usually does. When 6 came and went there was a roar from the floor as people realized that no one was leaving any time soon. The performances from all of the DJs meant an electric atmosphere fro beginning to end, Maceo Plex, as always, was a particular fabvourite of the Amnesia faithful, Pan-Pot also deserve special mention, as does Mar T, who knows the crowd better than most and Joseph Capriati rounded off an amazing Ibiza season with a spectacular finishing set. The party roared through the night and into the early hours, the sun came up and the vibe inside the famous venue changed as everyone looked around recognizing the achievement of lasting the distance. As the last beats drifted away just before midday the following day, the realization that it was over started to dawn on the massive crowd still occupying the dancefloor. Ibiza 2015 was over for Amnesia, one of the best it has witnessed and it was only fitting that the grand finale should be as good as we can remember. Thank you Amnesia, see you next year!
