Al Fresco Partying At BEACHOUSE

When the curtain finally falls on the 2015 season and clubbers return to their respective homes to hunker down for the winter, buoyed by memories of their Ibiza adventure, there is no doubt that BEACHOUSE on Playa d’en Bossa will feature heavily in those thoughts. The stylish restaurant on the vibrant beach has become one of the go-to venues for that must have Ibiza experience, the outdoor party. From the minute it first opened its doors in 2014, BEACHOUSE showed its intention to become one of the island’s great outdoor specialists and with numerous spectacular one-off’s already under its belt and residencies with three of the most exciting parties grabbing headlines throughout this summer, it’s fair to say it’s a job well done. There are, of course, countless other reasons to drop into the chic beach venue but for now lets concentrate on Diynamic Outdoors.

When Solomun announced that his label would be occupying the Tuesday slot in BEACHOUSE, it was met with universal approval amongst the house community. A label choc full of exciting talent, new and experienced, showcasing its wares in one of the hottest new venues throughout the summer was just what the doctor ordered. The residency is well and truly under way now and we have witnessed some amazing collaborations behind the booth so far but with Stimming delivering a live show and NTFO and Thyladomid completing yet another stellar line up, this promised to be one to remember. It wasn’t the greatest of days, the weather in August not always playing ball, but when it comes to a beach party on the clubbing capital, it would take something extraordinary to get in the way!

We normally like to drop into venues nice and early, get the last of the daylight and that magical hour when darkness falls, unfortunately for us we are caught up elsewhere and it’s already dark when we land, which means two things, we miss our favourite part of the day and also Romanians Dani and Robert, AKA NTFO, who we were looking forward to catching on the back of some amazing recent releases. BEACHOUSE is already busy and the vibe is cool, people are dancing in and out of the venue to a soundtrack of bubbling basslines, chunky percussion and some hypnotic loops. As a label, Diynamic has consistently unearthed some amazing talent, you just have to look at tonight’s line up for further proof of that. Musically it doesn’t follow trends, it has a philosophy of its own, born from the passionate professionals involved and clearly influenced by Solomun and as a result, it challenges the dancefloor more than many of its peers.

We make our way into the venue, not the easiest of tasks, to have a nosey and find Stimming and Thyladomid both in the booth as the party comes to the boil. Watching a live electronic performance doesn’t have the same effect as perhaps say a live band, most DJs are pushing buttons and twiddling knobs these days, although Stimming does so with ease, reacting to the dancefloor as he takes it on a merry musical journey. Back out on the beach, we can’t resist the temptation to kick of the shoes and enjoy the feeling of the sand between our toes as we dance the night away. There’s a bit of an edge in the air tonight, which adds further to the dramatic surroundings. There’s nothing quite like the stars as your lighting rig and with the warm, full sound that comes from the BEACHOUSE system, courtesy of tonight’s protagonists from Diynamic, it’s as good as it gets! BEACHOUSE offers three fantastic residencies from which to choose from, with Andrea Oliva and Guy Gerber on Wednesday and Sunday respectively adding to the Tuesday party, meaning you are literally spoiled for choice on the beach!
