Pacha Celebrates Summer Opening

Pacha Ibiza is set for Ibiza 2017, having announced its weekly schedule but it’s not just another summer season for the twin cherries, for Pacha celebrates its fiftieth anniversary this summer. Half a century of entertaining people from all over the world, fifty years of the finest music, the best DJs and some of the biggest club brands has seen Ibiza dance all year round under the watchful gaze of the world’s most famous discoteque.

In the winter, Pacha becomes a more intimate club space, engaging with the island it calls home, showcasing the talent that lives on the island and introducing club parties that, more often than not, transcend the seasons and become popular summer events. When it comes to Summer, Pacha becomes the focal point for more than one generation of clubber from all over the world, opening seven nights a week, featuring international a-listers and some of the best production on the planet. The club that started life 50 years ago in Sitges, has become one of the biggest lifestyle brands in the world. The images of the original venue might be a million light years from what exists today but the spirit of the party is exactly the same.

The extra special summer gets under way on Friday May 26 as Hot Since 82 gets his debut solo Ibiza residency, Labyrinth up and running. The Friday night in Pacha has always delivered an underground edge and with Labyrinth, that looks set to continue. Hot Since 82 is one of the most innovative DJ/ producers on the scene and his love affair with Ibiza continues to go from strength to strength. Saturday May 27 sees the return of Pure Pacha Paris By Night, one of the most popular and glamorous parties of recent years. Bob Sinclar resides over a club transformed with some of the iconic landmarks of the city, as well as some theatrically spectacular performances. The opening weekend comes to a fitting finale on Sunday May 28 when Solomun returns with his plus one concept. The talented spinner caught the attention from his very first party, moving the Pacha DJ booth to the dancefloor, where the capacity crowd had a better view of what was happening and the energy transferred between DJs and crowd threatened the roof!

Monday May 29 sees the very first Flower Power f the season, Ibiza’s longest running club party has overseen numerous changes on the island but remains true to its hippie spirit and never ceases to attract a capacity crowd of all ages from all destinations. With a musical freedom that incorporates sounds from the 60s to date, this is a colourful celebration of life that has to be experienced. After a stunning debut season last year, Maceo Plex returns on Tuesday May 30, with another series of Mosaic parties. If you love a musical journey that challenges your perceptions while engaging your senses, then this is definitely the party for you. The fun continues on Wednesday May 31 as Martin Solveig invites everyone to My House. His energetic, infectious and often hypnotising vibe has been a massive success midweek and with another hugely talented selection of artists joining him throughout the summer, the success looks certain to continue.

The final opening party sees David Guetta’s FMIF return on Thursday June 1. When it comes to roadblocks, Pacha has witnessed more than its fair share over the years and many of them have come on Thursday nights when the mercurial Frenchman is in town. A global superstar that has topped as many charts as he has played clubs, there is no denying the popularity of this party. If you like your music on a slightly more accessible tip and love to see celebrities partying the night away, then this is the one for you but beware, if you don’t have your tickets in advance, you might end up on the outside looking in as it is always capacity! Pacha turns 50 this summer and like all quality things, it just keeps getting better with age.
