Melon Bomb Ends A Fruitful Summer At Tanit Beach

Ibiza – another season is coming to an end and the island has yet again created many unforgettable memories for another swarm of first timers, regulars and residents – and a whole menu of closing parties are in full swing on the island right now. We all love a success story – and especially a story that originates from the magical White Isle – and what better story is there than the stellar rise of Melon Bomb, the hugely popular series of parties that has taken Ibiza by storm this season? This weekend saw the fruity and seriously funky concept wave goodbye to beachlife with a final hurrah at Tanit Beach Ibiza.

Written in music by authors with a passion to entertain, make good music and throw a party that is talked about, anticipated and participated, the Melon Bomb story is one that fills our hearts with fuzzy feel good vibes. Whatever the location, these guys have contributed to some of the most fun-filled, spectacular and talked about nights this season. And to top it all off, the four founding DJs behind the whole act – Juan Corbi, Ben Santiago, Paul Reynolds and Scott Gray – are some of the nicest peeps in the business.

 

Sitting down with Scott Gray in the relaxed setting of the beautiful Tanit Beach Ibiza was exhilarating, hearing a story so full of achievement and passion. When asked for a quote to round up the season gone, he laughs, ”Incredible – what a hype our boogie in the bogs at Hï Ibiza made! Glitterbox is one of the most successful nights on the island, we played Glastonbury, Pikes, Southport Weekend – next season I want more of the same please, more festivals and simply just to make good music!”

Taking on Tanit Beach on a glorious Saturday afternoon, the place was buzzing and packed full of party people making their pilgrimage for the last Melon Bomb beach session of the 2017 season. The beds were full of people having the perfect day on Playa D’en Bossa, with owner Christian Braun and his team catering for every guest’s needs and delivering an absolute flawless performance across the kitchen, bar and on the floor.

With all four of the Melon Bomb founders in the booth, the hands were up in the air and there wasn’t a single person in the building or on the beach able to resist their infectious disco, funk and soul electronica. The tantalising tunes were getting the crowd’s toes tuning in and the atmosphere was exactly what it should be – happy and full of smiles, chat and cheer! Thank you Melon Bomb for an amazing contribution to the summer gone and here’s to another slice of sensational sessions next year!
