IZAKAYA X Spinnin’ Next

As we are hurtling towards the closing parties, the end of the 2017 season might be coming into sight but summer is far from over yet. Ibiza is famous for its glorious Indian Summer weather and next week, on September 24th, stylish gourmet hotspot IZAKAYA Asian Kitchen & Bar is inviting guests to join them for a little poolside boogie, dinner and drinks.

Located in the glamorous Sir Joan hotel in Marina Botafoch, the new Ibiza Town eatery hast fast established itself as a culinary destination that offers not only mouth-watering Japanese and South American fusion cuisine, but also an impeccably curated music offering, with some fine turntable talent providing the soundtrack to your dining experience every night. On Sunday, September 24th, Spinnin’ Records talent platform Spinnin’ Next will be taking over the decks for a little twist by the pool. It’s a chance to hear some of the hottest up and coming electronic music artists play in the intimate surroundings of the gorgeous IZAKAYA Ibiza.

Since its opening in July, the bar and restaurant has made waves on the island with its delicious culinary offering. Innovating the traditional Japanese dining experience with a South American twist, the menu boasts light, healthy and fresh dishes that range from Nikkei specialities to sushi treats conceived by Executive Chef Hariprasad Shetty, who also launched the original IZAKAYA in its hometown of Amsterdam. The tapas style portions are perfect for sharing with friends and trying some new flavours, like the utterly addictive crispy baked rice parcels topped with spicy tuna tartar, the luxurious Gillardeau oysters clad in Kataifi Filo pastry, beef tataki, dressed with a zesty onion ponzu dressing or hand-dived Scottish scallops topped with a creamy yuzu and truffle sauce.

Both inside IZAKAYA and out in the backyard, there are several inviting lounge areas to enjoy some cocktails or wines from the carefully curated wine list. Make yourselves at home on the colourful sofas by the DJ booth or perch in the garden space overlooking the turquoise glow of the statement pool, with the sleek monochrome structure of the hotel illuminating the night sky. This summer has already seen an influx from island-based DJs have diners taking a turn on the dance floor, and next week will be the chance to sample some fresh beats ahead of the official Spinnin’ Next launch at ADE 2017.
