Ibiza 2016 is off to a flyer, the island has never been so busy so early and there were plenty of things going on to keep everyone happy. We have some of the highlights of the pre-season events as well as highlights from the opening parties. Amnesia resident Mar-T is our cover star and we also catch up with Riva Starr and Justin Harris from Music For Freaks, who gives readers an exclusive mix. Amanda O’Riordan returns with the fashion as does DressedIn Ibiza. Travel influencer spent time with Essential at the end of the month and gives her top ten things to do on the island and we look forward to the next edition of the DJ Awards.

Mar T has had a spectacular few years, maintaining a healthy DJ diary around the world’s finer venues and parties, he has remained a mainstay in Ibiza at Amnesia and his label, Wow! Recordings, just celebrated its first ten years. Making a contribution to a scene he loves on several levels is important for the talented spinner, we were delighted when he agreed to adorn the first cover of the year, as Amnesia gets set for its biggest season yet.

On the musical front we also catch up with Riva Starr, another spinner whose label, Snatch! Recordings, has made a significant contribution to dancefloors all over the world. With several high profile Ibiza gigs to come, he looks forward to the summer. The Music For Freeks crew returns to Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes this summer, and they talk us through their hopes for that party as well as the decision to come out of retirement. Justin Harris also gives readers of The Essential Ibiza Magazine an exclusive mix to get you set for the weekend! Ibiza 2016 saw Essential Ibiza TV take its activity to another level, check out some of our early summer movies and get a flavor of the start of the season.

Ibiza Style, one of the island’s best printed publications, returns for this summer to carry on our exciting collaboration. From a fashion perspective DressedIn Ibiza and Amanda O’Riordan deliver some great tips on what you should e wearing and where to get it on the island. Hjordis Fogelberg has just published her second Ibiza & Formentera guide and offers a unique map to pin point some of the places to be visiting this summer. The DJ Awards announce the nominations for this years event and open the voting, allowing you to chose your favourite and we give you a little guide to the popular ceremony.

In our lifestyle section Nico from Amazonia teaches you how to make the perfect Acai bowl and we spend the day with Smart Charter, cruising over to Formentera. Finally, travel influencer Nadia El Ferdaoussi spent some time with Essential Ibiza at the start of the season, check out her tips on what to do when you’re on the island. It’s the first magazine of the summer and if it doesn’t persuade you to jump on a flight to Ibiza immediately, nothing will!
