After what has been the longest ever summer season for techno haven Cocoon, the final party, on Monday October 3, looms large as it gets set to bring the shutter down on the 2016 season, with one last gathering of its Ibiza tribe. Doors open at 23.00 for those that want to savour every second of the last party and Sven Väth welcomes Sonja Moonear and Henrik Schwarz (Live) to the Terrace while the Club features Adam Beyer, Nina Kraviz and Ilario Alicante.

2016 has been a year of numbers for Cocoon – it celebrated its 20th anniversary this year and it set about its 17th Ibiza season and longest summer to date, kicking off on May 30 and spanning six months, closing Monday October 3. Sven Väth made 15 appearances and there were six guest appearances from Adam Beyer and Ricardo Vilalobos, amongst numerus other world class performers that punctuated the greatest Cocoon summer to date! Amnesia bulged with techno lovers from all over the world every Monday, as Cocoon delivered a temple to techno on a weekly basis.

Making an impact on the clubbing capital is never a given, lasting more than one season is an achievement and establishing your party with clubbers from all over the world travelling to the island is virtually impossible but that’s exactly what Sven Väth and the Cocoon family has done. It has become the standard bearer for techno on an island overflowing with the demanding beat! Seventeen summer seasons is testament to the drive, determination and obsession of all of those involved in Cocoon, that has seen it maintain its principled approach to hosting a party, with one clear message in the forefront, to make sure that everyone that comes to the party has the best time ever! The Cocoon crowd is a melting pot of music lovers; from seasoned visitors that can still remember the first party to newbies, experiencing the unique vibe for the first time. The party has seen lifelong friendships forged in the early hours of the morning dancing to the beat of the Kaiser!

It doesn’t feel like yesterday that we were breaking the news of the 2016 summer line up, let alone the end of the longest Cocoon Ibiza residency to date, time really does fly when you’re having fun! It’s time to say goodbye to one of the island’s best loved parties but not without one final celebration and, in true Cocoon style, it has assembled another amazing line up for the finale. Sven Väth will take centre stage in the Terrace, where he will control that huge partisan crowd like a master puppeteer, offering one final shared musical journey. Sonja Moonear has been a popular guest this summer, her own unique take on techno has captured the imagination of the floor on more than one occasion. When it comes to live entertainment, Cocoon has always embraced and showcased innovative and talented producers and they don’t come much better than Henrik Schwarz.

Offering an alternative in the Club for the final party is Adam Beyer, the Drumcode boss has been ever-present this summer consistently delivering his uncompromising style of techno, threatening the roof in the iconic room on several occasions. While the legions that follow the Monday night party in Amnesia show every guest mad love, it holds a special place in its heart for Nina Kraviz, seeing the talented spinner as a kindred spirit that dances every beat along with them. The line-up for the last Cocoon of 2016 is completed by Ilario Alicante, long serving resident and hugely popular with the masses that pack the club every week. It’s yet another example of the attention to detail that the Cocoon team employs, making sure that every party is the very best it can be. Monday October 3 might be the last party of the summer but it’s not a time for melancholy, it’s a time to embrace the opportunity, celebrate another immense summer and give Cocoon the send off it deserves! There will be the traditional carry on at a secret location as with every Cocoon grand finale.
