Coast Suites Rock Bossa Posted on May 18, 2015 share this tweet this Words: Graham Currie Images: Indi Slebur Santos Ibiza Coast club is the delicious space around the oddly shaped pool connected to the Santos Ibiza Coast Suites, a chic, art deco inspired, pastel coloured oasis in the heart of vibrant Playa d’en Bossa. The last two years have seen the hotel welcome countless guests and deliver some amazing parties overlooking the golden sand of Bossa beach. With musical references on the walls, and the theme carried on through the name of the suites, the venue and its owners have a clear passion for the medium. Ibiza 2015 sees the family grow as the Concept Hotel Group adds Tropicana Ibiza Coast Suites to its portfolio. Saturday May 16 saw Tropicana open its doors officially and coincided with the opening party of the Santos Ibiza Coast Club, so it was an afternoon/ evening in Playa d’en Bossa for the Essential crew. Santos Ibiza Coast Club put its pin firmly in the island’s clubbing map last summer with a series of high profile collaborations that had us dancing around its unique pool on numerous occasions, from the opening party, where, it seemed, the island turned out to welcome it, to regular parties that saw Anja Scheider amongst those to call the fantastic space home for the summer. The pool offers a beautiful spot to chill out during the day, with one of the finest views from any pool on the island. The restaurant has an extensive menu and the picturesque backdrop is the perfect lunch companion. When there are no events it’s a picture of tranquility but when some of the world’s best DJs and labels drop in to party, it becomes a completely different animal. We’re looking forward to the opening but before that, we accepted an invitation to contribute to the welcoming of Tropicana Ibiza Coast Suites. Located on the opposite side of the strip from Santos, Tropicana doesn’t have a beach view but does offer an equally stylish base for your Ibiza adventure. Art Deco is once again a major influence and the stunning colours set the hotel apart from anything around it. The brightly coloured parrots sitting patiently welcoming guests as they made their way into the venue was a nice touch. They even posed for pictures in front of the logo board for anyone that felt the need. The party was well under way when we landed, the chic lobby filled with chatter, champagne popping, cocktail staff busy making mojitos and an eclectic musical mix covering the last five decades had heads nodding and feet tapping. It was a vibrant atmosphere and wherever you looked there were ear-to-ear grins. Poolside – another unconventional design for your daily dip – a big crowd had gathered. Colin Peters, in a dapper white jacket, was in charge of the musical offering as conversation flowed as fast as the complimentary drinks, countless selfies were taken and people got a warm and fuzzy feeling about the latest addition to the island fabric. We didn’t stay until dark as we wanted to get to Santos early but the ‘Cocktails & Dreams’ neon sign above the outdoor bar would have looked wicked all lit up. Tropicana is a stunning hotel with a warm and friendly vibe that offers yet another cool spot in the busy resort, handy for all of the action but with the ability to allow you to relax and gather your strength in between parties. Nicely warmed up, we said our farewells and headed to Santos Ibiza Coast Club. It’s a short walk between both venues and not long before we’re in the heart of the Santos opening party, where it had already transitioned from cool afternoon drinks by the stunning pool into proper party mode as Oriol Calvo delivered a chunky house set. The popular island DJ was largely responsible for the mayhem that ensued at last years party so we knew we were in good hands. The pool area was packed and people had already started dancing in front of the booth as Ibiza Sonica Radio broadcast proceedings around the island and across the world. There are multiple levels to the Santos Ibiza Coast club pool, so there is always some space to be found, if needed. From the beach, looking up at the elevated pool area, a huge ‘stairway to heaven’ sign covers the front, inviting all to make the climb and join the party, as the beats got slightly tougher and the party moved up a gear. Next up in the booth was Rae, DJ, singer and producer with Defected Records, she took the packed pool area on a sexy house journey that seen her pic up the mic and sing a long, much to the delight of the dancefloor, which was the catalyst for the party to really kick on. Santos Ibiza Coast club offers the perfect space for a party, the design of the pool creates numerous little areas where people can gather and chat, where dancing tends to break out and with the hotel coming to life after dark with a series of strategically placed soft, coloured lighting as well as some cool projections on its façade, and the breathtaking view from the terrace across the beach to the Mediterranean, it is a beautiful place to party. With the beach now in complete darkness we surrender to the party, grab a mojito and get involved, happy to have welcomed Tropicana Ibiza Coast Suites to the island and to be in the heart of yet another Santos Ibiza Coast club party as it went off. There’s plenty to come from both of these venues in 2015, stay tuned for more information… Reservations: t: (+34) 971 393 268 w: Tropicana Ibiza Coast Suites w: Santos Ibiza Coast Suites share this tweet this
