After nothing short of a dream debut, Hï Sundays brought its summer residency to a close on Sunday night, with yet another heavyweight affair. Steve Angello, Afrojack, Oliver Heldens and Lovra in the Theatre and Mambo Brothers with Doorly and Danny O in the Club delivered a fitting finale.

If you hadn’t any prior knowledge of Ibiza, ok, ridiculous but bear with us, and landed on the island this summer, you would be hard pressed to identify Hï Ibiza as the island’s newest venue. Of course, looks aside, as it is still very shiny, standing back, taking its nightly residencies into consideration, you could be excused for believing it has several years under its belt. Such has been the instant impact of every night, with capacity crowds from all over the world dropping in to experience the brand new super club.

Sundays, like every other night, brought an individuality to the party, a series of residents in the Theatre rotating throughout the summer while local DJs Mambo Brothers offered a steady hand on the Club, inviting a selection of talented peers to join them. It is a formula that has proved hugely successful and, as the dust settles on the last party for the summer, one that all concerned can take great pride from. It was a family affair in Hï Ibiza for the last Sunday, with Oliver Heldens dropping into the Club to check out what was happening, Duane Harden delivered a powerful but impromptu live performance and every artist brought their respective A-game.

Special mention has to go to the production on the final night. It has been pretty special all summer but there was something about the flow on the closing party that saw it stand out. The giant moon behind Steve Angello as he tore the main room apart was particularly eye catching. From beginning to end, the vibe was relentless, with the crowd in each room fully aware that this was the last chance to let loose this summer and determined to make the very most of it. There’s a special vibe attached to both opening and closing fiestas in Ibiza, and while the season long atmosphere rarely drops below electric, it does deliver something different. Each DJ responded to the supercharged ambiance, delivering roof threatening performances that leave us all longing for the start of next summer! There are still a few parties to be enjoyed in Hï Ibiza before it closes its doors on Ibiza 2017, make sure you grab your tickets in advance.
