HEART On Fire Sets The Night Alight Posted on August 10, 2016 Words: Olivia Ebeling Images: Andrei Oprescu share this tweet this Setting foot onto the HEART Terrace for the first time ever this summer, we couldn’t quite believe our eyes. Located in Marina Botafoch, its expansive views on Ibiza Town frame the fortress that crowns Dalt Vila as a focal point above the forest of boat masts bopping away in the yacht harbour, making it a spectacular destination to start your evening. So when the theatrical restaurant and night club announced its HEART On Fire event, we knew it would be the perfect place to watch the annual August fireworks display from before continuing the party inside. Decorated with quirky and colourful props – most notably a beautiful weeping willow tree growing out of the centre of the main bar – and boasting a dedicated menu not only for cocktails but also champagne and cigars, guests are invited to step into the immersive environment and prepare for the magic to unfold. Opening at 11pm, we walked up the staircase that leads up to the Terrace, a pale full moon greeting us in suspension from the hallway ceiling as we made our ascend following the starry night sky mural adorning the walls. With the night of the fireworks coinciding with Ibiza Sonica’s 10th Anniversary Showcase, guests were treated to a carefully curated line-up of island-favourite and internationally renowned DJs that would start the night on the Terrace and move into HEART’s spacious indoor party space from 2am. Karlos Sense opened the evening with an atmospheric set that filled the space with ambient soundscapes and trickling effects. As the clock edged nearer midnight, the stylish crowd gathered to watch the fireworks, a 15-minute spectacle that set the dark heavens alight with its glittering explosions. In wise foresight, we had ordered some cocktails just in time for the sparkling display to begin; a zesty Whiskey Sour and refreshing Mojito masterfully crafted by HEART’s mixologists. There is always plenty to see at HEART, the incredible attention to detail revealing new exciting finds upon every visit. A vintage photo booth producing arty black and white portraits tempted us to have our picture taken, while the cheeky neon sign displays provide Instagram opportunities galore. Most of all, though, the HEART Terrace is a beautiful, fantastical and creative space to enjoy an evening with friends and delicious drinks in before hitting the dance floor. Valentin Huedo took to the decks next, filling the bustling open air space with deep house beats on a minimal tip, before handing over DJ duties to Cris 44, who continued the chilled vibe with mesmerizing, hypnotic melodies and soft vocals. At 2am, it was time to move the party downstairs, filling up the floor with a crowd that was more than ready to dance the night away. Yoko O kicked off proceedings with a funky house set that was big on bass and vocals, creating a happy atmosphere with plenty of smiling faces, one of which we couldn’t help but notice belonging to master mixer Guy Gerber. Chaim and and Igor Marijuan were billed to finish the night, but we may or may not have slipped out via the mirrored disco ball room before the very early hours, the lure of our bed proving too strong after a dreamy night at HEART Ibiza. share this tweet this
