Dunes: Your Ultimate Closing Party Hangout Posted on September 15, 2017 Words: Olivia Ebeling Images: La Skimal share this tweet this While we can’t quite believe that we are really starting to talk about the closing parties of 2017, we also know it’s important to make the most of your time during the hectic schedule of summer’s final fiestas! And if you’re looking for a place to refuel, relax and recharge between club hopping, we have a hot tip for you: Dunes bar and restaurant in Playa d’en Bossa. Offering tasty food and drinks, games and energetic DJ sets, it’s your one-stop-shop to gather your friends and get ready for the night ahead. Located on the lively strip that runs from the famous Jet Apartments past Ushuaïa Ibiza and Hï Ibiza all the way down to Nassau Beach Club, Dunes is just a short walk from all your favourite party venues. It’s ideally situated to grab pre-drinks or dinner before hitting the dance floor or regroup with your party posse before moving on to you next nightlife destination. And we did just that this week after the Martin Garrix Closing at Ushuaïa Ibiza and before moving on to In The Dark at sister venue Hï Ibiza. Grabbing one of the comfortable large tables, which are perfect for big groups of friends, we ordered some much needed food and drinks having danced our socks off just before. On the beverage menu you will find a large selection of beer including classics like San Miguel, German Warsteiner, Carlsberg, Alhambra and even (gluten-free) Mahou, bubblies like Champagne, Prosecco and Cava, red and white wine sangria and a huge selection of cocktails. Unable to resist the fruity concoctions, we opted for a fruity and sweet Strawberry Mojito, a tropical Kiwi Daiquiri and an energy-boosting Espresso Martini. While we waited for our food, the DJ’s infectious set of house music had us chair-dancing, getting us excited for the night ahead. The Dunes Combo platter was perfect for our group to share, a generous selection of favourites such as crispy mozzarella sticks, juicy chicken wings, the most addictive battered jalapeno pepper and cheese parcels, onion rings and succulent king prawns in a crunchy tempura style shell. Accompanied four different dips – Caesar, sweet chilli, BBQ and a really rather punchy spicy mayonnaise – the finger food disappeared in seconds. The absolutely huge beef burger – topped with molten cheese and bacon and accompanied by fluffy fries – had to be quartered to be tackled, the ultimate indulgence and totally delicious. The Dunes Club Sandwich with chicken, bacon, egg and a tasty sauce layered between crispy slices of toast made for a lighter, but no less flavoursome alternative, also served with the finger-licking good chips. Before we could allow ourselves to sink into a food coma while we waited for some more friends to arrive, we decided to bring out our competitive side and hit up the Dunes games area, which includes a pool and soccer table. Fuelled by cocktails and good music, we had a lot of fun practising our skills with these games classics and – truth be told – show the boys how to navigate your way around a table soccer game (insert smug face here). When the rest of our group finally arrived, we took one cheeky chupito for the road and headed across the street, hunger pangs beaten and ready to take on the rest of the night!
