With its modern and spacious interiors, all-inclusive food and drink offering, varied family-friendly entertainment and expansive, beautifully maintained surroundings, the Grand Palladium Palace Ibiza Resort & Spa definitely lives up to its name. Sitting proudly on the top of Playa d’en Bossa beach and overlooking the Ses Salines Nature Reserve, it boasts stunning views onto the golden sands on one side, and the multi-colured saltpans and rolling hills of the White Isle on the other.

But did you know that even if you aren’t a resident at the hotel, you can unlock all of their amazing services with a day or night pass that invites guests to enjoy the facilities, food and fun the Palladium Group prides itself on? We went along on a balmy August evening to enjoy the culinary offering as well as the lively entertainment programme. When purchasing a night pass, which costs 45 Euros for adults and 25 Euros for children, visitors can access the hotel from 6pm until 1am and enjoy a dip in one of the abode’s spacious pools, all-inclusive dinner and drinks and a show jam-packed with music and group interaction. Even better, the wristband also allows you to explore the neighbouring Grand Palladium White Island Resort & Spa, another slick property of the Palladium Group. Sharing services and facilities, pass holders to either hotel can also use the amenities of the other, making this an even better deal.

We started our evening with a bite to eat at the onsite La Sal buffet restaurant – ‘bite’ being a massive understatement given the variety of treats on offer. Choosing a table outside, we watched the sky turn pastel pink as the sun started to descend and even spotted the elusive flamingos that live in the Salinas Nature Park. With all our drinks being included in the night pass, we chose a refreshing Don Luciano De Mancha white wine, which was easy and refreshing to drink with its citrus flavours and hints of green fruit. La Sal champions Mediterranean cuisine, with many traditional Balearic bites on offer, and we put together a colourful plate of tortilla de patata, Galician octopus, mussels vinegraitte, chorizo sausage, manchego cheese, padron peppers and crunchy bread with a tomato and garlic topping. Our Spanish friends were delighted to see cold mini ‘pizzas’ Ibizan style – a crunchy base topped with peppers, tuna and olives – a Malaguena [Malaga style] Salad with confit cod, potatoes, olives, orange and shallot, as well as a Mallorca Trampa salad made from cucumber, tomato, pepper, onion and olives.

The selection of mains on offer was no less impressive and you could literally spent hours working your way through them. A pasta and pizza station catered for our carby cravings, while a seafood grill station offered king prawns, squid, red tuna, cuttlefish and many more made to order. Pork tenderloin, lamb chops, a whole roast pig, beef stew and chicken cooked Chilandrian style beckoned meat lovers to come and load up their plates, with side dishes including spinach Catalonian style, grilled vegetables and potatoes in several variations. For dessert, we shared a caramel cheesecake, fruit mousse, ice cream and some fresh fruit – a veritable feast giving us energy for the entertainment part of the evening.

Every night, the Grand Palladium Palace offers a different programme in its spacious openair theatre, which consists of a huge stage overlooking a dance floor and rows of seats, as well as an all inclusive bar. On the night we visited, a White Party was in full swing when we made our way over from the restaurant, with a DJ spinning chart toppers like Avicii’s Hey Brother, Pitbull’s Timber and Mike Posner’s I Took A Pill In Ibiza, all infectious current hits that had the whole place up and dancing. The hotel’s club reps were leading the crowd, encouraging little ones and their families to get into the groove with a group choreography to Justin Timberlake’s Can’t Stop The Feeling. But there were also plenty of solo dance performances that left us with our mouths wide open, like a breakdance battle that everyone showing off their best moves. With everyone’s mood sky-high and feel good vibes swirling all over the place, we reluctantly called it a night – but it was, for sure, a night we won’t forget in a hurry!
