When a line-up teeming with huge artists comes together for a good cause, you can be assured it’s for a very special reason. Taking the issue of animal extinction into its own hands, non-profit organisation M.A.A.C – Music Against Animal Cruelty – will be hosting a one-off charity event at Ushuaïa Ibiza on Thursday 13th September. All profits raised from the event, titled ‘WILD’, will be going towards their two latest initiatives in Africa; Rhino Conservation Botswana and Lion Guardians Kenya.

Led by special guest Black Coffee and a team of M.A.A.C ambassadors, the poolside stage is set for a phenomenal treat in the shape of sets from Adam Beyer, Art Department, DJ Sneak, Ida Engberg, Tiga – to name just a few – plus an unannounced special guest, all of whom are contributing their performances for free. Add to that Ushuaïa Ibiza’s powerful sound system, phenomenal production and mind-blowing light shows, and you can be sure the lion won’t sleep in the jungle that night!

Jonny White a.k.a. Art Department, co-founder of M.A.A.C, says, “This is going to be a powerful movement when we realise its full potential. We need to be clear that this goes beyond just our community. This isn’t just techno against animal cruelty. This is music against it. This is a global force against treating animals like they have any less right to be here than we do. For now we’re looking to our sector of the industry for support as we build the foundation, but the bigger picture is garnering the support of the music industry at large, the same way the industry has been successful in the past with initiatives like live aid for example.”

Environmental issues are fast becoming increasingly urgent topics. In the last 40 years our planet has lost 90% of the world’s rhinos and since 1990, 97% of the tiger population. Since the disappearance of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago, the rates of extinction we experience today have never been seen before. With animals low on the agenda for authorities to tackle, numbers of influential artists, beyond those also on the WILD roster, are staging global events to unite music lovers in aid of action. If there was ever a reason to head out for a party, we couldn’t think of a better one ourselves. An extraordinarily rare line-up, WILD at Ushuaïa Ibiza is not to be missed. Tickets are on sale now!
