May 8 2017 is a date that will live long in the memory, as the world lost Robert Miles; a friend, a colleague, a role model and visionary. As a person Robert Miles was many things to many people, as a musician and producer, his music touched millions around the world and continues to do so. His last vision, of bringing tomorrow’s world today, in the shape of his beloved OpenLab station, has announced that it will honour the memory of its founder and driving force, when it returns to the FM airways on-island from April 2019 on 106.4FM.

Open 001

OpenLab didn’t take long to establish itself as a staple in the listening diet of the numerous music lovers who live in Ibiza, as well as countless music fans around the world. The schedule offered a real alternative and embraced some exciting producers, artists and DJs. The news that the station will be broadcasting again around Ibiza from April 20109 will be met will universal joy. The station is already available online now, kicking off broadcasting in January 2019.

Openlab Returns

Robert Miles was hugely successful with whatever he turned his hand to. His genuine passion for what he did shone through, always doing things the right way and for the right reason. His determination to offer dance music lovers on and off the island a station that embraced new sounds, new talent, while maintaining an ear for existing music-makers saw the station make an instant impact on the music world. OpenLab reluctantly turned off the transmitters at the start of 2018 but will turn them back on in April 2019, where most of the original team, after lengthy consultation with Robert’s family, friends and OpenLab partners, will take the vision forward. Preserving Robert Miles’ legacy and staying true to his vision are key as the platform gets back to what it does best and shines the light on some of the most innovative new artists and music. OpenLab is available online at www.openlab.fm now and will return on 106.4 FM from April 2019.
