Surrounded by the beautiful Mediterranean sea, water plays a huge part in Ibiza’s ecosystem and tourism industry, so the issues that the world as a whole is facing where sustainability of this crucial element is concerned are never far from the islanders’ minds. On September 27th, entrepreneur, philanthropist and founder of Cirque Du Soleil Guy Laliberté and his HEART Ibiza partners the Adrià brothers hosted an exclusive benefit event in support of ONE DROP, the international water charity founded by Laliberté in 2007.

In collaboration with the owners of the Ibiza Gran Hotel, the one-night-only event offered attendees the full mind-blowing HEART experience which combines incomparable first class cuisine imagined by the Adrià brothers with the enchanting performances curated by Cirque du Soleil. The evening began on the venue’s beautiful terrace overlooking the marina of Ibiza Town and its historic core Dalt Vila, with delicious aperitifs and spectacular hors d’oeuvres before continuing in the interior room, where the jaw-dropping performances and outstanding gastronomy transported guests to a world of fantasy and amusement.

With all proceeds divided between ONE DROP, an international non-profit organisation dedicated to water hygene, sustainability and giving communities the ability to provide themselves with safe water, and the Alliance for Sustainable Water Management in Ibiza and Formentera, a local water project created to build dialogue, transparency and consensus among all stakeholders in freshwater management for the islands, money was raised from admission prices as well as an exciting auction offering once-in-a-lifetime prices. At 1am, the immersive wonderland that is HEART opened its doors to those that wanted to celebrate this special evening with a dance, offering a superb line-up of DJ talent.

Lum opened the night with a hypnotic set that was enhanced by arty visuals projected on the walls, delivering fat bass lines with a trance edge.
The dance floor filled quickly with an eclectic crowd that grooved along to the mesemerising soundscapes he created. Boho babes danced alongside modern-day mermaids in fish scale print catsuits and birds of paradise dressed in feathered finery, turning the club into a visual feast.

Up next in the booth was Hraach, who took over in seamless transition to deliver a set that turned the energy up even higher with driving beats featuring Middle Eastern accents and minimal elements. All the while, the club got busier and busier, with islanders turning out in force to support this very worthy cause. Headliner of the evening Acid Pauli, who had filled up HEART throughout the summer with his Acid Sundays residency, whose set lured party goers deeper down the musical rabbit hole with haunting vocals and deep bass lines.
